what brought this on is that i just bought True Lies on DVD. i bought it because i remembered it as being a pretty entertaining film. and it actually is an entertaining action-comedy. but towards the end where Arnold is flying a jet and his daughter is riding on the nose of the jet, and the terrorist is riding on the fuelslage-it just gets too ridiculous. but a solid movie up to that point. the humor is very good throughout the film.

another movie that loses me in the last half hour or so is Alien vs. Predator. this is a movie that i consider to be not a great film, but a kick-ass DVD. i did not want to see this movie, but i was dragged to the theatre and was very suprised. the entire movie is very intense and plays out like a very good, very well made sci-fi horror film. and the visual and sound effects just make it a great DVD to own. however, towards the end-where the chick is like down with the predators, it starts getting a little cheesy.

One that immediately came to mind was War of the Worlds. It wasn't a great movie, but the end completely ruined it for me. I'm sure I could think of a few more, but I'll have to get back to you :p

Ah, yes.
Alien Leader: Ok, we've got all of this advanced technology, & we've been planning this invasion for hundreds of years. How should we carry it out?
Alien: Uhhh.. I think we should... ummm... blow them up while we have the chance. *gets vaporized*
Alien Leader: MORON!!! Anybody else?
Other Alien: We should kidnap them one by one, but we can't take anybody that's actually important. We should leave the Nyquil behind too, we won't be needing that.
Alien Leader: PROMOTION FOR YOU!!!!!

 Well, one movie that I thought kinda had a sucky ending was Open Water. I dunno how many people have seen that here, tho. The ending to Freddy vs Jason blew. "Ohhh, Freddy's dead. Oops, no he's not. :-\ "

Well, with Open Water, there was really only 2 possibilities for the ending: either they survive, or they die. I found the ending satisfactory, and pretty haunting, too.

As for Freddy Vs Jason, did you honestly say you expected a definitive ending? If either one of them actually died, the fanboys would start rioting.

And yeah, War of the Worlds had an awful ending.

Exactly. It's like people didn't expect there to be YET another sequel to a horror movie[which is known for infinite amount of sequels]. I'm just wondering when/what the story will be for Freddy vs Jason vs ??? in the next installment;

There are several movies I rented on DVD and was glad I rented them first:

White Noise-I had big expectations for the hype behind it. I'm a big fan of supernatural/unexplained genre. I find those things to be interesting. The plot was setup well, only to have a dumbass ending[not gonna give it away for those who haven't seen it, just gonna say rent first :n: ].

Cabin Fever-Yet again, a big build of hype behind a monumental flop.

Land of the Dead-A George Romero film from the "of the living dead" series. This movie disappointed on so many levels. Just when you thought Romero outdid the last zombie movie, he has something like this to disappoint.

Meet The Fockers-It was a funny movie at times, but, did it have a point? Ben Stiller is funny, but, this movie totally sucked and was not worth going to theatres for.

I haven't seen "War of the Worlds"[as I hate Tom Cruise] nor Alien Vs. Predator. Both films[Alien & Predator] were kinda dumb in their own rights, and AVP didn't look like anything special.

Actually Freddy v Jason sucked until near the end. When they finally started fighting.

:y: Couldn't agree more.

I'd like to throw The Aviator in here. I've read up a little on Howard Hughes and was expecting a good flick. Well, for the most part, I got one, until the "oh by the way, the end" ending. There's so much more they could've included but didn't.

I'll go with the Matrix Trilogy as a whole (which is the way it's intended). The 1st part was amazing. The 2nd part was dull, but not terribly bad. Part 3 was so shitty it offically ruined the entire saga for me.

I seriously can not enjoy the first movie thanks to the fact that I know how it will ultimatly end.

Not to mention the fact that the stupid kid was at his parents house where nobody seemed to even realize the world almost ended.

Oh.. and I liked the ending to Vanilla Sky.
