View Full Version : Most obscure thing you remember?
Think hard, and post the most obscure/forgotten thing from wrestling you can think of that you remember.
I remember reading in WWF magazine about some people who won a contest to have dinner with any Superstar. They chose Stone Cold and the cheap-asses took him to Sizzler. :wtf:

I remember Hulk Hogan giving an nWo promo, and the crowd were chanting at him. He said at the end of the night he was going to have the nWo beat down the entire audience.
I was younger and didn't know wrestling was fake, so I was concerned for the audience. Because we all know like 20 guys can take on a few thousand.

Kaientai. John Wayne Bobbitt.
I remember Venis pursuing Kaientai's creepy, middle-aged leader's eerily young and hot wife. And later, when that went sour and she'd gone back to middle-aged fellow, and she tried to return to Venis, he refused her, left the ring, and tossed several large batteries at her. I remember Tracey Smothers as Jim Ross' favourite wrestler Freddie Joe Floyd, pinning the future JBL.
I remember The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels stealing the show from week to week on WWF Shotgun, yet never making the main shows. I also remember what I believe were the last words Gorilla Monsoon ever spoke on WWF TV and they were "Holy Mackeral!" after somebody had just pinned D'Lo Brown on Shotgun in 1999. He commentated on Shotgun around the 98/99 mark shortly before he fell ill and later passed away. However, he was very different from the "classic" Gorilla, he was pretty subdued and he spoke so little you usually forgot he was even at the booth, he only piped in with a Holy Mackeral! or a quick cliche every now and again. Shame.
Hell, I remember Shotgun! And LiveWire! And Mania! And All-American with Todd Pettengill, Gorilla Monsoon, Ted DiBiase (who apparently used his millions to redecorate his half of the set, so it was up to his luxury standards, complete with that touch of class, A BOWL OF FRUIT!), Johnny Polo, Bobby Heenan, Stan Lane....

I remember that match coming about because Razor and Martel were the final two men left in a battle royal on RAW for the vacant belt. I remember it coming down to Razor vs. Martel and the Quebecers and the announcers making a big deal about the three French Canadians triple-teaming Razor. They were a shitty tag team, sometimes he'd try to pierce somebody after Droz beat them, and I'm told they had some drugged-up loony named Key as a third partner on a few episodes of Shotgun Saturday Night. Two Chris Benoit moments:
- him saying on Heat (after a hilarious Chris Jericho promo in which Benoit was called the "Canadian Crappler") that if you put two letter Fs at the end of the name of the Jerichoholics' hero, that you'd have his exact opinion of him (for those not following, Benoit implied the name "Jerichoff").
- after a promo from John Cena on SmackDown, he said that he was tired of Paul Heyman's crap...and tonight, he'd make a few bitches (in this case, the FBI) tap. "Word, Life". (Thankfully, I finally have this as a video file. This was CLASSIC)
Also:
The very FIRST time The Rock made fun of Triple H in a vocal impression, not that time before Armageddon 2000. This was 100x funnier, since HHH was very much a hated heel, and The Rock still had a bit of his "heelishness" intact. For some reason they never included this goldmine of a promo in Rock video packages -- it was one of his funniest moments ever. Anyway, it went like this:
"Tonight-UHHHH.... I am the Game-uhhhhh....
and I'm going to be talking about absolutely NOTHING-uhhh...."
meanwhile King is spazzing.
"Well, The Rock says... uhhhh-UHHHH....YOU ABSOLUTELY SUCK!"
More spazzing from King.
"Triple H, you come out here and run your mouth about how it's gonna be another DX Night. Well, Triple H...it's not gonna be another DX Night, because frankly, the THOUGHT of another DX Night makes The Rock want to put his finger down his throat and spew The People's Vomit all over your candy asses!"
