The entire OVW roster surrounded the ring Wednesday night in Louisville, KY, as WWE Tough Enough III winner and OVW Champion Matt Cappotelli addressed the crowd in a truly touching moment. The 26-year-old Cappotelli, who was on the verge of debuting on WWE television several times before being sidelined by a series of unfortunate events, was making his first OVW appearance since being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. During his speech, Cappotelli expressed his love for professional wrestling and said that he would like to lead by example. He then did exactly that when he surrendered his title over to OVW official Danny Davis. According to the emotional Cappotelli, he fully accepts the responsibility of being a champion and his current situation unfortunately prohibits him from being champion right now.
Being a man of faith, Cappotelli believes that being diagnosed with a brain tumor happened for a reason. During his emotional speech, the Tough Enough III winner said that his faith will never waiver. In fact, he hopes to be an inspirational example to others going through similar situations.
The touching moment continued as many members of the OVW roster offered words of support as the crowd chanted “We love you, Matt.”
Afterwards, OVW official Paul Heyman was visibly moved by Cappotelli’s heartfelt speech, saying “It was surreal. It was amazing. It was divine.”

It's a real shame for the guy. My thoughts and prayers go out to him.

On saying that, I give it a week before Vince McMahon is exploiting this.

[Vince McMahon walks into MNM's locker room.]

MERCURY: Mister McMahon!

VINCE: Hello, Joey. Johnny. Mmm, Melina...

MELINA: Hiya, Vince. :naughty:

VINCE: Yes. Daddy like. Anyway, Johnny. Johnny Nitro, I wonder if I could have a moment.

NITRO: Yeah, sure, boss. No problem. You guys mind?

[Mercury and Melina leave.]

NITRO: How can I help you, sir?

VINCE: Well, you see, Johnny, it's like this. Remember three years ago when I decided to kill my own creation by injecting a lethal dose of POISON?

NITRO: The nWo, yes sir.

VINCE: Oh. Well, you're not supposed to remember that.

NITRO: Am I also not supposed to remember that I was on Tough Enough, and then Eric Bischoff's apprentice?

VINCE: The second one yes, but it's the first one I want to talk to you about. You see, the reason I was remind of the lethal dose of POISON is because I just heard about your friend Matt Cappotelli.

NITRO: Yes sir, it's really tragic.

VINCE: Mm, yes. Yes. Horrible tragedy. Anyway, I was hoping you could start wearing this.

[He pulls out an "MC" armband.]

NITRO: But, sir, Matt's not dead.

VINCE: Oh, but he will be soon enough. You see, his brain has been infected by a lethal dose of POISON.

NITRO: You mean cancer?

VINCE: Uh, yes. Cancer. Tumor. Whatever. Wear the armband.

NITRO: But I don't think I'm comfortable...

VINCE: There's a main-event push for you!

NITRO: Oh. Okay, why not?

VINCE: Great. Just one catch.

NITRO: What's that, sir?

VINCE: YouonlygetpushedforamonththenIputyourtitleshotonChrisMasters.

NITRO: I'm sorry, sir?

VINCE: What? Oh, nothing. Must not be a catch. See you later, Johnny.

This is really insignificant but I was under the impression that CM Punk was OVW champ?

Best of luck to Cappotelli.

Speaking of which, OVW has such a deep roster that I'm looking forward to seeing what they do to fill the vacancy. Any of the guys in the TV Title hunt (Punk, Brent Albright, Aaron Stevens once he drops the belt, Ken Doane, even Burchill) could easily jump to the main event, plus they still have guys like Elijah Burke at the top, too.

Heymans booking OVW now but usualy leaves after the first hour.I guess to avoid everyone that waits outside after shows. Also the chances are they'll have some sort of tournament to crown a new champ.Only people i can see even carrying the title would be CM Punk,Brent Albright,or Burchil. No way they'll give it to a member of The Spirit Squad or Elijah since hes horrible and is being sent down to DSW.

Cappotelli is a tremendous talent from what I've seen and has the look, it's such a shame to see anyone diagnosed as such, but even more so when they have such a bright future ahead of them. He is in my prayers.
