I have your basic 16x DVD+-R/RW drive. What kind of blank dvds do I want, + or -, and what is the difference in the two.

Doesn't matter, really. They both work the exact same. If you are going to choose though go with +. They are more widely used so you would have an easier time to play on a DVD player if you weren't sure what it supported.

If I want to make illegal copies of DVDs, or if I want to put mpeg or wmv or avi files on DVD, how would I do this?

I use DVD Shrink for burning full DVDs. That is if I'm copying the DVD or have the DVD on my harddrive.

You can use programs like Nero and Ulead DVD MovieFactory to put other formats onto DVDs and make the menus, chapters, etc. I believe that Ulead is a little slow at burning and I'm not sure about Nero but they work.

Ashampoo Movie Shrink & Burn 2 works well. It will help compress video if you want to try and fit it all on a DVD you can't seem to.

Some of the new DVD's have structure protection on them that DVD Shrink won't read. If this ever happens use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD to your hard drive and shrink it from there.

Hey, he didn't say anything about PORN.

(Although it was basically implied.)

get Nero vision express or whatever its called, its part of the nero package.
For direct dvd copying from a dual layer dvd to a single layer, use dvdshrink

I am having trouble burning my movies to DVD. They burn all right, but they don't play on DVD players or my PS2. I use Nero, and I have both DVD+R and DVD-R's.

Anyone know what my problem may be?

Is this a recent matter, like you've been able to do it before, but only it's not working now?

If it is, reinstall, I guess :-\

Do they play on your PC?
