View Full Version : So if I were to buy 2 or 3 ROH DVDs...
If I were to buy two or three Ring of Honor DVDs, either compilations or events, what should they be and why? I really want to start expanding my wrestling DVDs past the WWE.

The shows from RoH's first year are great too. Other than the ones already mentioned(which are great) from year 1 I recommend:
The Era of Honor Begins(Main event is Low Ki v American Dragon v Chris Daniels)
Round Robin Challenge
Glory By Honor
One Year Anniversary Show
I would have suggested Road to the Title(a one night tournament to set up a 4 way IronmanMatch at Crowning a Champion) but I didn't see it on rohwrestling.com. Crowning a Champion is a decent show, but I wasn't a big fan of the undercard.

The only ROH DVD I currently own is Night Of Appreciation. It's got Eddie Guerrero in the main event and a great AJ Styles/Low-Ki match. From what I've seen online, tho, I'd say Joe/Kobashi and Final Battle 2005 as well.

Glory By Honor, just to see the only one on one match between Low Ki and Samoa Joe
...if you don't count Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Hey, if you go to http://www.crazymax.org/ there is a guy doing a 2 dollar DVD shill, 2 bucks a disc w/ free shipping if you buy at least 6 discs (12 bucks.) He has a decent amount of ROH stuff. If you're not sure, and don't mind buying some burns, I'd recommend it.

Honestly, their early stuff is far better. ROH dvds were sold domesticly in my area, for a while. That's how I got into it. I bought the first three dvd's and was amazed. Then I went to a live show(dvd events happened about four years ago) and was dissapointed. It wasn't bad, but nowhere near the calibur of the originals.
Honestly though, whenever they import guys from japan, the whole show is good.
Besides the first year, I'd reccomend:
Dragon Gate Invasion
Samoa Joe vs Kobashi
Night of Thunder I & II
Also an all japan one where Muta and kojima wrestle.
