View Full Version : How would you book this year's ECW ONE NIGHT STAND?

No, it's not about FINLAY this time...

Not yet, that is...

:shifty: :shifty: :shifty:

Here's how I'd do it:

ECW One Night Stand II:

Hardcore Legends Match
Cactus Jack & Terry Funk vs. Sandman & Tommy Dreamer
- Either way, you have an instant classic with these 4 hardcore legends in the ring together... I'd assume Funk and Cactus would go over... This alone is a reason to buy the PPV, IMO...

Awesomeness Personified
Rob Van Dam vs. Steve Corino
- This would be so amazing... I'd mark out for Corino and ECW-style RVD is always quite an experience... Put RVD over obviously but seeing Corino in a quality match would be very enjoyable...

Eddie Guerrero Tribute Match
Chris Benoit vs. Dean Malenko
- This alone is a match worth paying for... I hope Malenko goes over in what will probably be the last match in the career of one of the most underated talents ever... Certainly will be a great technical match...

Japanese Superstars Match
Masato Tanaka vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri
- Both these guys are legitimate superstars of Extreme Championship Wrestling... They would put on a very entertaining match with some stiff shots... I think it would have a nice place on the card...

Tag-Team Triangle Elimination Match
Impact Players (Lance Storm & Justin Credible) (w/Dawn Marie & Jason) vs. Eliminators (Perry Saturn & John Kronus) vs. Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten
- Tag match of legendary ECW tag-teams... I'd mark out to see Impact Players and Eliminators together again... Would be a pretty damn good tag match too regardless of if the superstars are in their prime... I threw Axl & Mahoney in there because you know they would add a hardcore aspect to the match and they go over well with the crowd... I'd put the Eliminators or the Impact Players over...

Cruiserweight Tag Opener
Rey Mysterio, Psicosis & Super Crazy vs. Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke & Kid Kash (w/Smothers, Rich)
- All these guys would put on a great high-flying match... I think this match would be a perfect place to showcase some of these superstars... I'd put the FBI over, I think.. Either way, it's a good opener to have...

Commentary by: Joey Styles & Paul Heyman (w/Joel Gertner)

Other midcarders (CW Anderson, Chris Chetti, Pitbull, etc) -> this year, 2 Cold Scorpio and New Jack maybe?

Finlay vs. Chuck Norris in a "Finlay Sucks" Match.

Anyway, I'd like to see a Cactus/Funk match as the main event. It would be pretty brutal and they would give us their all. Although your main event would work as well.

Yeah simply because they've worked together so many times and you want to see them stand tall as a team united in the main event... It's a way to get legends Dreamer and Sandman on the card as well... The reaction to these superstars last time was overwhelming...

If they could ever get Raven somehow, they should do Raven/Dreamer.

If they could ever get Raven somehow, they should do Raven/Dreamer.

Sure, something involving Raven and Dreamer or Raven and Sandman or all three would be good... But I have a strong feeling that no TNA talents will be appearing this year... If Raven does in fact sign, I think he will be signed to a deal having him on the regular roster... He's been a quality over talent for a long time and has been drifting pointlessly in TNA since losing the NWA World Heavyweight Championship...

I wouldn't book RVD and Corino together.

Clash in styles in my opinon.

I think a Tajiri/Rey/Kid Kash match could work REALLY well though.

Then I would take out Axl and Balls from your tag match, and put in Corino and CW Anderson.

Then in a double jeopardy match do Balls Vs Masato/ RVD Vs Awesome.

Honestly the lack of The Dudley Boyz, Rhino, Jerry Lyn, and espically Shane Douglas, Sabu, and Raven would make another One Night Stand hard to book a really good card. Granted you could have some good matches but nothing that his marquee ECW type stuff.

There are really only three things that would make Another One Night Stand pay per view a really viable show would be the following.

**Rob Van Dam is given a great opponent
**The Elimnators are reunited
**Terry Funk and Cactus Jack wrestler (Not necessarly against one another)

To hype it they should put Heyman in the announcing booth for about a month (on RAW preferably) before the PPV to hype it, have ONE ECW match the RAW and SmackDown! before the PPV, and then have the PPV. That would hype it up nicely I'd say.

I wouldnt book any gay ecw vs raw and smackdown angle this time as well. I like the idea of having Heyman on the raw annouce booth or have some ecw superstars appear in one off matches on smackdown and raw

My idea was to do two ECW matches on TV with non-WWE wrestlers (or mixed, but they would have to be former ECW wrestlers).

Will you shut the hell up about Finl--- oh, my bad.... force of habit....

Seriously, I don't want to see another "One Night Stand." Come on, it was called "One Night Stand" for a reason. One Night. So RVD was hurt when it happened, and that sucks.
If anything else with ECW's name happens, I'll only watch it IF...
Paul Haymen is in charge, no questions asked.
No WWE vs ECW storyline bullshit.
The Dudley Boyz, Raven, and Rhino were there.
It turns into another "brand" only with no inter-brand plot lines at the bigger PPV's.
Taz vs Benoit in a submission match.

The idea of "One Night Stand" was cool. That gave ECW a proper send off. Unless they plan on keeping ECW alive they should just leave us with memories of what ECW was. Over the top, in your face, no one is going to tell us what to do, "Fuck you you're wrong! Fuck you we're right!" wrestling. ECW was never never a storyline where somehow The Blue Meanie gets a pinfall over JBL.

On second though, I'd watch the whole show it just for that

Not in any order:

Rhino vs. Taz
RVD vs. Lynn
Sandman vs. Funk vs. Jack
Raven vs. Dreamer
Benoit vs. Malenko
Impact Players vs. Eliminators
Super Crazy vs. Rey vs. Psicosis vs. Taijiri vs. Kid Kash vs. Little Guido

Of course, that's just what I'd like to see, but it wouldn't happen.
