Laptop region DVD code thing

I've got mine set on Aussie, and I'm only allowed one more change before it's permanent, problem is I want to watch US dvd's on it probably at some point down the line.

Is there a hack that takes away this permanent thing or something :mad:

There is firmware for some DVD drives that will get rid of the region code and there are also some third party programs that get rid of it or reset it back to 5. This might, however, cause you to void the warranty and if your drive fails you'll be out of luck. But, DVD drives are relatively inexpensive and usually take a while to fail.

It would be easier just to get a region-free DVD program. Try CyberLink's PowerDVD and see if it works.
