I loved that entire feud. I'm biased, though, because I'm both a Taker and Austin mark and was at SummerSlam 98 live...

I wasnt watching wrestling back then. How did the whole feud shape up?
I remember Taker knocking Austin out by accident though during the match

I think its the epitomy of a great WWE main event.

Undertaker layed Stone Cold on the announce table, clubed the top turnbuckle, and hit him with a guillotine leg drop.
I have that PPV on VHS. That PPV was awesome. HHH vs Rock in a ladder match was great. It was nothing like a Christian ladder match, but it was sweet.

I rememberbeing so hyped for this match. The promos really got to me with the "Highway to Hell" music and large explosions of fire.

I loved that match, the whole event was pretty good actually, the ladder match was pretty damn good, and I even remember enjoying D'Lo vs Val Venis in the opening match

I WAS SO INTO THAT FEUD! That was like the best shit going on back then. Undertaker was found to be in "cahoots" with Kane, and mind games were being played.
Man, that was ENTERTAINMENT plain and simple.
SummerSlam 98 also had a Dumpster match between Mankind and the New Age Outlaws for the titles. If I remember correctly, Kane no-showed and the NOA won the belts. That was around the time the back of the tag titles were red for some reason.
I vaguly remember when they did the brawl between Kane and Austin like a week or so before SummerSlam. Kane threw Austin into a herse and Taker was behind the wheel. Taker was "driving it out of the arena and straight to SummerSlam" (paraphrasing JR) while Highway to Hell played. :D

Great great feud and match. Loved the Top Rope Leg Drop on Austin throught the table.
2nd best match on the card next to Rock/HHH which iMO is the best ladder match of all time

All I know is that AC/DC had the theme song so it was deadly.

Someone upload the match?
Someone upload the match?
I second this. I can't find it anywhere.
I was really hoping that it was on the Undertaker's DVD...

Summerslam 98 is one of my favortie PPV's ever. The Austin/Taker thing had tremendous buildup and the HHH/Rock ladder match (which I still think was the best ladder match ever done) stole the show and created two superstars in one night.

So much hype but the main event didnt live up to it if you ask me....
I was so hyped up to see Taker take on Austin and they did such a great job promoting it and sadly to this day I still consider it one of the worst main events Ive ever seen....(I didnt say worst......there are probably 10 more horrible matches ahead of this one but If I had to put a list together this would be on it)
=/
When was the last time you saw it? Contrastingly, the Taker vs. Austin match is one of my favourite and most memorable matches of all time.
