For those of you who got pretty into the movie, I thought a discussion about the next two installments of the movie would be decent. Mainly because of the many openings the first movie leaves for the next 2 sequels.

Craven is still alive, so I see him playing a big part in the second movie. I also expect that hot blonde chick that has it for Craven to have a bigger part in the next two movies. She's manipulative, and is fixed on what she wants and I think that's a making for a strong character.

Markus will be interesting. According to Viktor in the first film Markus is a direct decendant of Corvenus. So this means he has the same bloodline as Michael and can handle a bite from both the Likens and Vampires.

It'll also be pretty interesting to see how Michaels character plays out. I have a feeling one of the main characters will die in the third. Probably Michael.

What are your thoughts and opinions on the second and third installments of the movie.

I rented Underworld a while back, and it set on my shelf for the longest time. I guess I was never really motivated to watch it. :-\

I might give it another go soon.

Wasn't that good, I hope they don't make sequils. The ending was pretty shitty.

Ugh. Not another crappy trilogy.

Ugh. Not another crappy trilogy.

Most people I've talked to seem to like the movie.

Anymore it seems like every movie with a sequel is coming out in groups of 3. I like the idea though. It's enough movies to expand the story, but not to the point where they're coming up with gay plot outlines just to throw another movie out there.

I'm still waiting to give my future kid 10 bucks to go see Friday the 13th Part 24: Jason takes the Bahama's.

I'll be interested to see how the 2nd one goes. I'm guessing that Markus is going to wake up as a hybrid like Michael. At the end of the first movie we see the blood from that one lichen guy dripping into Markus' tomb. That means that he'll be awakened with lichen blood.

I'm also interested to see who they try to play out as the better race. The first one somewhat forces you to side with the Vampires until you find out the true story behind the war. My guess is that we'll see Michael and Selene side with the lichens to face vampires led by a hybrid version of Markus. That would lead up to a pretty sweet hybrid vs hybrid showdown. Craven will probably worm his way back into the Vampire society and get some high ranking position.

Those are just my guesses though, I'm probably all wrong.

That's a good theory... I didn't think about the guy being a Liken. I guess that's cause I never saw him turn. He did take quite a few shots and live to tell about it so I suppose he is one.

From what I read there will be an Underworld 3... which puzzles me a bit. It would make sense for everything you said to go down in the second movie... but what about the third?

I wouldn't be suprised to see Celene vs Michael at the end of the third.

Yeah, this much was obvious (Though my friend's wife didn't pick up on it), and he'll be an abomination.

If they're stealing from White Wolf as WW alleges, they'll play up the Lychens as the heroes. Myself, I'd rather seem them do a more "shades of grey" approach, but the first movie was pretty clichéd, so I don't hold out that hope too high.

I found that I liked the movie. Markus will come out as a hybrid as he consumed Lychen blood. This also means he will get all the memory that came from the fallen wolf. What he does, and how the vampires treat his awakenening and evolution should be interesting. I don't think it should be a given that he'll fight Micheal, however being the easy plot line it may very well be.

A three way battle perhaps. wolves VS vampires VS hybrids. Perhaps other Wolves and vampires will seek to become hybrids... Perhaps to battle with hybrids or to combat them by becoming what they seek to destroy... LIke I said, not sure if they'll go that "deep".

That brings up a good point. I forgot about the shared memories thing. At first that would lead me to believe that Markus wouldn't side with the Vampires after knowing the whole story, but that brings up a lot more unanswered questions. Does Markus already know about all that since he is one of the elder guys or whatever? Assuming they were still doing the rotation thing back when the war started, Markus would've been asleep during the beginning of the war.

This is all, of course, speculation for the 2nd movie. I couldn't even begin to guess what the 3rd has in store.
