From Wrestlezone...

There is talk of putting Rob Van Dam over in the Wrestlemania money in the bank match, and then having RVD cash in on his title shot at the 6/11 One Night Stand PPV.

Does Hunter know about all this?

yeah hes gonna bury ECW once and for all.

It would be really cool if they did do that as it would perfectly fit RVDs character and being pissed about missing last year but i can just see it either being a clusterfuck ending with a mass ECW-WWE brawl like last year or interference to make HHH win and bury RVD and ECW.

LOL

Triple H vs. RVD at One Night Stand for the WWE Championship? Just can't see it. RVD would have to win. We're not going to be fooled by HHH cheating to win and then the ECW guys get some kinda' beatdown on the WWE guys.

RVD would have to win that.

Don't know if it would neccessarily work, but I would love to see RVD win the title in any situation.

Does Hunter know about all this?

About which? MitB, One Night Stand, or RVD?

Not that it matters. The answer to all three: No.

The WWE Championship being defended at ECW One Night Stand...I am sure I am not the only ECW fan who would cry bloody murder if this happened. No one else here thinks that ECW:ONS should maybe be about ECW and not WWE, wasn't it enough we had to endure the stupid invasion and brawl last year? Wasn't that universally accepted as the worst part? So now we are going to base the Main Event off of the failure of last time?

ECW ONS wasn't about ECW last year, and it won't be this year.

I wouldn't mind having a title change at the house show before ONS, but not advertise it on WWE.com (obviously, we'd know).

Then, have ONS open with RVD's music (PLEASE "Walk," not "One Of A Kind") and Joey introduces him as "Mister Monday Night, Mister Pay-Per-View, The Whole F-bleep-ing Show, and, as of last night...the NEW WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION CHAMPION! ROB! VAN! DAM!"

The lid would blow off the Hammerstein (little known fact: the Hammerstein Ballroom is, in fact, a giant Tupperware bowl) if that happened.

So, naturally, it won't.

YEAH RIGHT! WWE having their World Title change hands at a House Show (don't bring up the fact they have done it, totally different era we are in now), have the big announcment on an ECW themed event...

Yes. And by saying "So, naturally it won't (happen)" I clearly meant "This is what will happen."

Why has no-one taken into account another scenrio here?

At ECW one night stand it has to be ECW wrestlers wrestling the matches.

Rey is an ECW wrestler and Angle technically was.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Van Dam wrestles someone other than HHH for a heavyweight title. The MITB is open to both brands so the winner could choose both titles in theory right?

This also means Orton aint going over at Mania

IF they did that, I could see them pulling a scripted Shane Douglas, especially if it's aginst Triple H (not saying it should/will happen). Van Dam wins in the main event, gives a promo afterward with all the ECW wrestlers in the ring, and then he goes onto spit on the belt and throw it down saying how it's a joke. Or spray paint "ECW" on it and declare it the ECW championship.

Although Dave does bring up a good point that Rey was an ECW wrestler. In my opinion, IF this scenario does pan out, with Van Dam winning the MITB, and Rey winning the World Heavyweight Championship at Mania, then having the match at ONS and RVD winning, it would be worth having Rey win the title.

I didn't think there would be something good out of Rey winning at Mania, but this is actually the perfect set up. Man that would be such a huge mark out moment, RVD vs. Rey, RVD wins, ECW wrestlers come out and they all congratulate him.

At the very end of the show, have RVD hit Rey with the belt. Heel turn for RVD, because Van Dam would basically have to go in as the face to ONS, and I don't see Rey turning heel. He could cut a promo on SmackDown! about how Rey sold out to the WWE style and all that.

Also, lol at loopydate. World Wrestling Federation?

Going with the old-school Fink call. The sort of tongue-in-cheek thing Styles might do.

Again, wishful thinking on my part.

Actually, I don't think an announcement was ever made claiming this, as much sense as it might make.

Would be a shitty thing to do, though, in my opinion.

Just to clear this post up -

This "news" came from the Observer Newsletter last week - Meltzer didn't say it was being talked about, he just said his plan would be to have Van Dam win and win the title at One Night Stand, and that that idea isn't as far fetched as it may seem.

Talk about blowing things out of proportion.

and then he would come out with the old wwf title, and HHH would come out and laugh, tell him to get th F out because its the wwe, not the wwf.

Wasn't Rey Rey booed last year? Won't adding the title to this scenario make things worse, no matter how many times he drops "EDDIE! EDDIE BAH GAWD NINE ELEVEN STUNNER STUNNER VIVA LA RAZA?"

Part of where I'm oing with this is simply that it'd be hard to effectively start a heel; turn doing this at ONS. OTOH, if RVD won it, they could have him defend it on either Raw or Smackdown and then Heel turn there, I guess.

I think they booed because right after Joey Styles welcomed us, the first theme we heard was "Who's that jumpin' out the sky?" which is about the least ECW-style theme there is. Sort of an indication that, yeah it's ECW, but it's brought to you by WWE.

Yeah, I thought about that, but even so, I don't see why they could still boo Rey in the match (making him the heel in the match and only for ONS if all goes well), and when RVD turns on him they would PROBABLY show sympathy.

Either way, Vince probably won't listen to the ECW fans there anyway, so he could still go through the heel turn then and go onto have RVD be heel starting at the next SmackDown!... But yeah, safest thing would be to do it on whatever show Van Dam and Rey are on at the time.

Don't forget the cut in crowd videos (for the live broadcast no doubt) of random WCW events in big arenas with "GOLDBERG 3:16" and "TOO SWEEEET" signs.
