7.5 from me.

Abit dark and depressing looking watching it now.

Steamboat/Borne was a good match

Sammartino and Beefcake sucked.

The womens Match was enjoyable.

The Main event was acceptable.

Still not bad for the first ever Mania.

7.8

The Main Event was awesome. The crowd was hot and the finish was real cool.

Other then that, I liked the tag title match and Andre/Studd

It would have been a lot of fun so a 10 on that respect, but still its better done these days so really 6.

8.3... Solid event

Never saw it but from what I've seen 7 would've gotten an 8 but the nickname Luscious Johnny Valiant scares me

I still cant believe like Skippord ive never seen this, but from the highlights ive seen it deserves at least an 8, simply because it started something that gave so many memories. If it had been a flop there might not have been another

I give it a solid 8.2.

I liked it, was my first wrestling tape I ever owned. It was quite dark and there seemed to be like a ton of people and stuff packing the outside of the ring for some reason.

But hearing those scottish bagpipes and watching the man, Hot Rod walking down that aisle so cool and cocky, fuck yeah.

Had a couple pretty good matches, a few stinkers but it was mostly entertaining, and that is the main thing.

Just because it "started it all" doesn't make it good.

Are we rating the actual event or the fact that other events came after it?

Typical kid. No respect for the people who laid the ground work for their success.

were rating the actual event, but since it was a groubreaking idea by vince, if it hadn't of been good the idea wouldnt have taken off and wrestlemania wouldn't have been what it is today, so for that reason alone it deserves at least a 7 or 8 imo hence my earlier rating

Just because it started it all doesn't mean it deserves a 10. I hadn't been born yet, so I couldn't have seen it live, but I have watched it a few times on tape, and although it was groundbreaking, its wasn't anything compared to what NWA Mid-Atlantic could've put on.

7 Just because it was the first but looking back on it there was no memorable matches but the celebs and the enviroment was unheard of back then.

Horrible matches, but for what it is, it gets a 7.

The Show Off

5 out of 10

Five out of a possible ten isn't bad necessarly, it just means that the event was average. It was what began it all which is the reason I gave it a 5 rather then a 4 or a 3. The atmosphere was great, Ventura and Monsoon really hyped it up like it was the greatest event of all time, which is what made it as good as it did. However, the fact that the World Championship wasn't defended at the event was a major bit of bullshit.

--Santana/Executioner was a pretty good opening bout.
--Sammartino/Beefcake was surprisingly good, fitting that Bruno was able to be out there on the WWF's biggest show, even if he didn't compete, something about Bruno in MSG is great.
--Steamboat/Borne was an average Steamboat match, which is a good match by most standards.
--Bundy/SD Jones was about a squash as squash could get.
--Andre/John Studd was slow and boring, if it weren't for Heenan ringside I would have fallen asleep.
--Volkoff & Sheik/Widham & Rotunda was an above average tag team match.
--Richter/Kai would have been good except for the fact I wanted to bludgen Cindi Lauper to death.
--Hogan & Mr. T/Orndorff & Piper had a big match atmosphere and was fitting for a main event... but not for a Wrestlemania. They should have just up Hogan/Piper for the World Title with Orndorff in Piper's corner and Mr. T in Hogan's. Despite all of that this match was the best on the show, and good enough.
