Seeing that CZW ring in the TNA game post made me remeber the crazy ass mods you could do to NM back in the day, like the 22 tiered cage or some crazy shit. My question is how do you do it and i wanna see some pics of the craziest shit pepole have made. Really how do u do it?

"Back in the day" we would use a Gameshark and only stuff that was in the game, like textures, animations, etc.

Now, people are putting custom textures in, making custom animations with more ease, etc.

Gameshark? Shoot, he said BACK IN THE DAY, hes talking GAME GENIE FOOL! God how much was that a pain in the ass, having to input 7 lines of 20 digit codes just to get you to be able to jump higher or something

If it was a game i played in middle school, thats back in the day enough for me at the age of 20. Whats a site werei could see some of the stuff thats out there? googled and found nothing but REALLY old websites i forgot about that i used to go to for NM, ah to be in that era again.

Theres a thin line between a confession, and a depraving yourself.

Now that people are emulating it on their computers, it's pretty easy to mod the game. Long as you don't mind playing it on your computer.

I don't have any of the sites, because quite frankly I haven't played the emulated version.

That forum I BELIEVE has some of the newer hacks, but it's a pain in the ass to navigate and find anything (go to the latest forum if you want to try). I used to go there all the time back in 2000/2001.

How do you get the emualted version, and how do you get it to play? I 've got alot of time to take up and this could be one way to consume it....

You need to download a ROM and then run it with a N64 Emulator. Someone else can probably give you a specific ROM site.

Although it's a bitch to play, because even if you have a PC controller you can't have the C-Stick mapped to an analog stick, so it's extremely awkward unless you have like 10 face buttons plus D-Pad plus Analog stick.

Not sure if people are aware...but there is a TNA vs RoH mod around now...

I don't think in terms of physics it works as a 6-sided, it still behaves as a regular one does in terms of running the ropes, corner moves etc. But you can use the aerial moves from anywhere hack to make it seem a little better. Observe:

That roster pic I posted is a little out of date btw, the final release is more up to date. If/when I get time I will do some screencaps from when I mess around trying it out.

I use the Joytech Neo, which is brilliant for N64 games.

Gonna clog the thread up something horrible, but whatever.

Note the Jay Driller (DANGEROUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS) in the last pic.

The game isn't perfect by any means...if you want a finished, polished product look elsewhere. But it is as you see above, pretty much. I haven't tried the 6 sided ring yet, it's an extra hack you have to do manually.

There are glitches in the game, some more annoying than others, but they're all liveable with (IMO). Some of the movesets need tweaking also, but there is a program you can download that will let you do that, if you are so inclined.

Basically it's a bunch of textures and hacks that modify the existing No Mercy rom. Has to be the US version for some reason but whatever.

Is this the mod that contains the 6 sided ring? And is there anywhere else to get it other than filefont?

If you sign up at this board they should have links for alternate downloads. The 6 sided ring is also to be found there, it's a seperate download.

Holy ass, that is pretty impressive, even if it does look like it's been photoshopped in paint.

Mr. Monday Morning
04-29-2006, 07:31 AM
If you mean the screens then I captured those myself straight off PJ64. It probably does look photoshopped but that's because the guy who did this basically created templates for each character, which load up when the game starts.

In effect it's like wrapping the original characters in TNA/RoH wallpaper, it's still the original character designs underneath, you just can't see them.

Ok, this would be really fun to do over and over and over. And I thought hitting huge moves off the ladder only was sweet.

I used to do that shit all the time. I remember when they split Raw And Smackdown and I set up my No Mercy to the new age WWE with all the new characters and all their moves. I did that shit on my actual N64 and it took FOREVER but it was so worth it.

That joytech controller looks sick. I have this sweet converter that allows me to use an N64 Controller OR a PS2 Controller on my PC. I played through Paper Mario with EASE.

Hmm I dunno, last I checked (and this was months ago) the code/instructions were in a thread in like, coming soon or new features or something. I'll have a look around in the next day or so (if I can remember my login :$)

Any help anyone?

Hey guys I'm new to this, loved No Mercy but haven't played it in yrs. Saw ppl making awesome edits to the game, def wanna try it. But it seems impossible to get help on how to. Can someone tell me if it's possible to edit the game using Gameshark? Or can the game only be edited on the PC version of the game? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Most of the hacks pictured can only be done on the PC rom and with certain plugins for the emulator used. Alot of the texturing can be done with Photoshop or another paint program. Beware though...sometimes these hacks can glitch horribly. Alot were done well, though.

There's probably a few things you can do with the Gameshark and N64 version, but it's limited to just the textures used in No Mercy.

As for not being able to map the C Buttons to an analog controller, I've done it on my Logitech Dual Analog. It's definitely not the best way to go, though. I've seen a USB adapter for the N64 controller at Radio Shack awhile back, so that's probably the best option.

I couldn't even tell ya. I've never used the Gameshark for that purpose. As it stands, my N64 is in storage and I haven't downloaded an emulator to the new PC.

I believe that most of the hacks themselves are Gameshark codes. The arenas, movesets (I think), all the moves, physics, ring shape and all that. The only thing that would be wrong is ANYTHING that uses custom textures.

Really, I'm not 100% sure the extent of actual game patching outside of textures there is, but I'm pretty sure the majority is just done with GS codes.

Though to get it to that extent (sans textures) you're looking at hundreds of lines of GS codes at minimum.

Attires used to be made from within the game's textures. Some came out pretty badass considering what we had to work with. And a lot of moves came out pretty great. I remember I made a fairly good Stun Gun. We used to have barbed wire matches, movable tables. There was actually quite a bit of stuff there but the community died down around 2003 until this custom texture movement came along.
