View Full Version : Random Idea for Edge

I know Edge vs. Mick Foley is confirmed for WrestleMania, but I would love it if they added a stipulation on top of it. Have it become Edge's "Money in the Bank Restoration Match". Have Vince McMahon say that from now on, every Money in the Bank Winner will get a chance to renew their right to challenge any World Champion at any time for said World Championship on the night their contract would have originally run out. So for Edge that will be WrestleMania 22. For the winner of this MITB Ladder Match, it will be WrestleMania 23.

It would kind of be fun. If Edge beats Mick Foley at WrestleMania, that means that the WWE and World Heavyweight Champion, respectively, have not one, but two men looking over their shoulders. It would add a lot of value to winning the MITB Ladder Match.

Makes it less special.

As fucked up as it sounds, Edge is pretty much in hell. He is getting "X-pac" heat, he DEFINITELY can't have a face turn anytime soon and the title can't be put on his b/c it will be a waste.

I really do miss the Smackdown! Edge. But hey...

If he turned on Lita, they could probably turn him face. But that would require both WWE and Copeland to put effort into the character.

Edge is not getting X-pac heat.

Legend, are you really thinking that the crowd likes booing this guy with the likes of Orton, ENTERTAINING Cena, etc. Maybe it's just me, but i sort of hear a groan from the crowd when he comes out or is promoing.

And i'm sure Native Americans celebrate Andrew Jackson's birthday every year.

But seriously, i think Edge i can get better as far as his skills, but needs to figure out who he wants to be. Does he want to be this "GRRRRR, MONEY IN THE BACK" guy who is never taken seriously and offers Lita to guys for compensation?

When Edge left for RAW, i think the WWE did it wrong to begin with. He was just thrown into a fued and didn't get the opprotunity to build himself up as a RAW guy. Don't get me wrong, i like Edge because i see potential, but he needs to work on his move set, tweak his promos a little bit more, and really needs to get rid of Lita as a valet. Hell, she gets more heat than he does on occasions. And that ISN'T botched.

If you do that, then you automatically label the MITB winner as someone who won't have the Title long term, therefore won't be taken seriously. Basically, your idea says..."Ok, even if you win the Title when you cash in on it...do you really think we're gonna keep the strap on you until Mania?"

Plus that bursts my (delusional) bubble that RVD will be champ going into next years Mania. :(

Edge was off to a good start on Raw, but they never followed through. I was one of the first people to cite potenetial in that "feud," but it lasted like 4 minutes.

You'd make it a conditional thing. Edge isn't World Champion right now, so he gets the match. If he holds the belt past WrestleMania, he can get his match the following WrestleMania. Or you can simply have him re-earn his shot and challenge for the other World Championship, unifying them under one champion (looking like a million bucks in the process), or promising his title shot (which he does not need) to someone who helps him out a lot.

Or if you're champ past Mania, you don't get the shot.

O we could just have Val Venis win the MITB and give him a title shot twice a week for the next five years. And he'll kiss Vince's ass once a month.

That would be a better way to do things.

Is that a shot at my Val Venis love? Venis winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is impossible at this point, but yes, you got me, I'd love to see him win it.

Val Venis receiving a title shot twice a week for the next five years is just stupid. I've never said anything like that.

Kissing Vince McMahon's ass once a month probably comes from something I suggested about Val Venis turning heel by becomming a corporate suck-up. In my scenario, Venis kissed ass once, to establish him as a heel.

Or if you're champ past Mania, you don't get the shot.

That would work, but why not take it a step farther then. How about if you're still champ at Mania after using your MITB, you get to send the wrestler of your choice to the other brand?

(Ok, I fess up...I'm just trying to get Cena sent to Smackdown....)

Yeah, but he'd be back in a year.
