I was just wondering when Triple H used the sledgehammer for the first time.

After he saw John MEllencamp live.
In the 70s... He loved to hammer in the mornin' and hammer in the evenin'.

the furthest back I can remember was when he had just transformed into The Game like when he was in the Corporate Ministry. I remember him hitting a casket with it. I think Taker was inside. The memory is pretty blury though.
Seriously, didn't he use it on Foley first? I know he had it when he was with Chyna, so that would put it at least in mid-1999...

Thats the earliest I could remember him using it. It just seems like there was somthing before that.

The Foley feud came after the Corporate Ministry.

This may just be me fabricating a memory ... but did he use it on Owen Hart?

I don't remember it being used on Owen. He used a crutch on him.

I'm also remembering the program ending with him standing on top of a pile of dirt holding the hammer. I'm sure there was a casket involved. I have it on tape, but I'm to lazy to check right now.

I can't tell you the first time he used it, but I can tell you the last...
It was used as a sex toy with which to penetrate the lovely Mrs McMahon-Levesque. After which she became pregnant. Imagine Hunter's surprise when in 3 months time Stephanie does not give birth to a baby with a perfect handle-bar moustache, but instead a brood of wee, little hammers.

You're right, but it was the Rock inside. Which lead to the Rocks broken arm angle.

I think he had just joined the corporate ministry and was going through his transformation into The Game, and at this time, (may 99) we were heading into the fated Over The Edge where Owen passed away.
On this edition of raw( May 17th 1999), Undertaker faced The Rock in a casket match. Triple H came out and beat down the Rock and put him in the casket. He used a sledgehammer on the casket, putting three holes in the top.
If I remember correctly, this led to a match at Over The Edge between the two. Rock was wearing a cast on his arm which Triple H took off halfway through the match and used as a weapon. The Rock won the match, by DQ and became the number one contender for the WWE title, where he would go on to face undertaker at KOTR 1999.

If I remember correctly didnt they have a match on raw where Rocks arm was in a cast, so HHH had to have a cast on his leg so it would be "fair".
