OK, so I got an EMail a while back, maybe a week or 2. It said "yo mike", so I opened it, being as my name is Mike. Of course, it wasn't from anyone I know, and this thing keeps comin up on my computer. Some porn thing with XXX Webcams or somethin. Anyway, every time I delete it, it comes back like 20 minutes later. There are so many folders, and I found them all and deleted them. Some of them were called "ecommerce", "dH", "Free XXX Shows" and "lol". Anyway, if my mom didn't go in the computer I wouldn't care, but luckily she hasn't been on all week. Any idea of how to get rid of this?

Anti-virus software or an adware remover. Preferably both.

I ran a virus search with this McAfee thing on my computer, and it found the files, so I removed them using the McAfee thing. Within about 10 minutes the came back. I have no knowledge on computers, I have like no clue at all what to do.

most likely spyware just get ad-aware and scan your computer. Either ad-aware or spybot seek and destroy will work( www.downloads.com , do a search there).
Or www.moosoft.com Program called the cleaner which searches for trojans on your computer :) try any of those 3 programs out.

Thanks a lot. Is there one of the three that you would recommend the most?

Personally i would strongly recommend getting ad-aware out of those 3 programs I mentioned.

OK, thanks. Hopefully I can get online long enough to download it. This thing pops up every 2-4 minutes, and that kicks me off of AOL.

It says that no viruses were found on my computer. I'm not sure if it's a virus now, because it only seems to happen when I sign on to AOL, and never when I'm just on the computer. But still, I can only go online for minutes at a time because when it comes up I get kicked off.
follow the steps in the sticky in this forum.

Well I've looked more into this to see if I can better explain everything that's going on. You know how it all started (me opening the Email, etc.), but here's the problem. I simply tried deleting all of the files. There are a few, they are entitled "lol", "Dsentry", "ecommerce", "Live XXX Shows!", and "dH". When I delete them and remove them from the Recycling Bin, they come back within minutes. Also, whenever I sign online, they kick me right back off. I tried deleting them, a Virus Scan (which came up negative), Disk Defrag, Disk Cleanup, deleting my cookies and internet files, and everything else in the sticky thread, but it still comes back up within minutes.
Side Notes:
- My computer is a Window's XP, just figured that would help to know in a way.
- The main thing that comes up is a file that allows me to connect to the webcam site. The rest, I can not see, and only know they are there by looking in my Task Manager.
- I noticed that when I kept open my C: folder, the first one of the files to come up is called "lol", whose icon is a yellow smiley face with it's tongue out. About 3 seconds after that, the other ones come up.
- They are all Processes except for "dH", which is an Application.

do you understand the use of ad-aware?
If you use it I'm sure it'll remove the file in question.

I would seriously just get ad-aware. Problem for him is if the internet keeps on d/connecting every 2-4 minutes he can't download it, unless he has a download manager..

when using ad-aware (from lavasoft) update it first (just like virus updates) then run it.
also try spy bot search & destroy. same again, update it first.

I ran Spyboy Search and Destroy (I think that's what its called), and it removed the programs from my computer. But every time I restart my computer, they come back and I have to do the same process over.

Try restarting in safe mode and running them again.
If that doesnt work you have one real pain in the ass.

I tried doing it in Safe Mode. Still, nothing.

If you don't use Spybot S&D, use it in this case. Ad Aware sucks compared to it.

At first, it sounded like your browser might have been hijack. You said these files only come up when your on-line right? You can try this out.

If it still keeps coming up, heh well do you know how to reinstall windows? :) Sounds like you may have to.

What was the directory of the files in question (the ones that keep coming back) when McAfee found them?
Is AOL your ISP?
Did you download anything?
I use Norton AntiVirus, it is the most ownage BS killing machine I've seen. I have never came across a problem I couldn't just click away with it. Try going here... It's a total source on viruses and shit, what they do, how you get them, and how to deal with them. Good luck.

Could you please forward me that letter - I will try to analyse it and perhaps I would be able to suggest what to do. Please send your virus to SidleJinks@techemail.com
Good luck.
