Wasnt an outright Terrible Wrestlemania.

Brock/Angle, Rock/Austin and HBK/Y2J all owned..

However Triple H Retaining, HBK winning and Fred Durst kill off my Ratings alittle

It had it's fair amount of crap, just like X-8, but it backed it up with no less than 4 great "WrestleMania matches" (ie, doesn't matter how good the action was, it just felt like a big match. Prime example being Hogan vs Rock from X-8)

Hardy vs Mysterio was a huge letdown, as it was way too short.

Nathan Jones was pulled as Undertaker's partner, making it a handicap match against Big Show, who's okay, and A-Train, who sucks, in a crappy contest.

Typical mediocre filler match for the Women's title, with little to no storyline going in. Man, how they've turned THAT around this year, huh? Big improvement on previous years.

Action was good in the SmackDown tag team match. Not a classic, smelt a bit like one of them "fillers" I keep mentioning, but it got a lot of good stars on the show so it deserved it's place.

Michaels vs Jericho is a classic, in my opinion, the best match on the show, and underrated in the "all-time" stakes. Don't forget HBK hadn't long come out of retirement and was still only working occasionally, and so seeing him wrestle against the newer stars was still a novelty.

Cat fight was a waste of air time that would have been better suited to the Raw World Tag Team champions, Kane and RVD.

Triple H made Booker T look like crap on route to squashing him. There was never a better time for Booker T to become a bonafide main eventer. This SHOULD have been his victory, due to the build-up, due to his popularity... alas, Triple H hits him with a pedigree and then takes about a minute to crawl over to him and pin him. Conversely, on the same night, it took three legdrops to beat McMahon, three Rock Bottoms to pin Austin, three F5s to beat Angle, but only one pedigree to put Booker T down and out long enough for Triple Snail to lazily crawl up the mat and pin him. What a waste of potential.

Hogan vs McMahon wasn't a technical classic, but it was fun, and it had the ol' historical significance, and a half-decent storyline going in. It also had the return of Roddy Piper, which was a mark out moment until the Hot Rod couldn't decide whether he was a face or a heel, and confused the hell out of the crowd. Still a great Mania moment though, and that's what it's all about.

The Rock and Steve Austin had their third WrestleMania main event, and yet still delivered the goods with a match that was better than their WMXV match but not quite up to their X-Seven standards. Still, they managed to keep it fresh, and Rock deserved to finally get the win over Austin, even though he really didn't need it. This match set Rock up for his final prolonged run in WWE, feuding with Goldberg, and we haven't seen him as active since. Austin also hasn't wrestled since, principely because he is injured, although when the most tempting scenario facing you if you come out of retirement is "I know if you wrestle again you could suffer a life-altering injury, but would you mind awfully putting the Coach over on PPV for no reason?" you can't blame him for that decision.

Lesnar and Angle was a match that was long anticipated and it delivered. The concern going into the match was, "will Kurt Angle suffer a serious injury?" as Angle's health was at a low point here. However, it was Lesnar who merited that concern after his botched Shooting Star Press attempt. All credit to Angle, he didn't hold anything back, and despite the naysayers who were knocking SmackDown as the inferior show at the time, the Blue Brand provided a fine main event.

The Safeco Field setting gave the show the perfect "WrestleMania look", much like the Silverdome, Skydome, Hoosier Dome (the old Wembley Stadium, site of SummerSlam '92, would have been a great Mania venue too.) Having various celebrities and bands performing at the show helped the Big Time feel too. Overall, an enjoyable WrestleMania, but lacked depth in the mid-card area, something the WWE hasn't had super-strength in since around the '99-'00 mark. The show was saved by the HBK/Jericho, Hogan/McMahon, Rock/Austin and Lesnar/Angle matches. The rest was take-it-or-leave-it territory for me.

the only Mania I still haven't seen. I'm dying to see Piper do his run in and nail Hogan with the pipe though.

Had 4 great Mania matches (Jericho-HBK, Rock-Austin, McMahon-Hogan and Lesnar-Angle) but the rest of the card left alot to be desired

I give it a 8. Like others said HBK/Jericho, Vince/Hogan, Rock/Austin, and Lesnar/Angle were all great matches. And each of those matches had their moments in as well. Vince blading, with a Piper run-in, HBK/Jericho had the hug and lowblow at the end, Rock/Austin had Rock putting on Austin's ring attire, and Lesnar/Angle had the big Lesnar spot where he botched the Shooting Star Press. And the fact that both Austin and Angle had serious health problems, and still pulled great matches.

Pretty damn good Wrestlemania. 4 amazing matches. I was on the edge of my seat for HBK vs Jericho, Rock vs Austin III, and Angle vs Lesnar. Hogan vs Vince had an amazing build-up. It really was 20 years in the making. If only Brock hit the SSP

In my top 5 Wrestlemanias ever

I don't know if you have to sign up for this or whatnot (if not, then I give it a 9), but here's a fun fact: If you notice, instead of the initials DTA (Don't Trust Anybody) on Austin's vest, it says OMR, which stands for One More Run (it was his last match).

8.5, Very Enjoyable Mania. I think the Lesnar/Angle match was great but could have gone down as one of the all time top matches if injuries weren't involved and I also agree with a few of the other guys and say that HBK/Jericho is widely underrated all time.

7.5 is about right for this one, it loses points for the CW match that this thread has just reminded me of,the shitty womens matches, pointless handicap match and the burial of Booker T(and HHH fans wonder why we hate HHH?).

Having said that, the Lesnar/Angle,Rock/Austin,Hogan/Vince,HBK/Y2J,and triple threat tag team matches make the show worth watching.

8.5.

It was a very good Wrestlemania overall. The atmosphere was everything a Wrestlemania whould be. The stage was great, the colour scheme was great, hell I hate Limp Bizkit, but even they were good for the show.

Hogan vs McMahon was great.

Y2J vs HBK wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. It was still a very awesome match, but I kind of had the expectation of it being one of the best Mania matches ever.

Booker T should have won the title. It's taken three years since HHH "gave the ball to Booker T", but I think that Booker T is ready for a full time main event push.

Angle vs Lesnar was great. Can you imagine how much more amazing that match would have been had Angle been completely healthy?

Storm and Morely shouldn't have been bumped from the card. The Miller Lite Cat Girls should have not had so much time.

Speaking of the Miller Lite Cat Girls, when Stacy and Torrie walked across the stage, I fast forwarded it on my PS2 because I just didn't care, and basically their legs stayed in the same position while they moved across ths stage. I laughed really hard.

I really enjoyed WM19...

+ Rey not winning the title was a surprise
- Pretty short match though
- Undertaker snorefest
+ Really enjoyed the Triple Threat Tag match
- The ending seemed a bit rushed though
+ HBK/Jericho was awesome
- Poor finish & Jericho losing
- Book/HHH ruined by finish
+ Better than expected from Hogan/McMahon
+ My favourite Rock/Austin WM match
+ Build up for main event (when did they start? Survivor Series?)
- Fear off injury to Angle
+ Relief Angle & Lesnar weren't injuried

Massivly underrated, IMO. Probably the second best Mania as far as my money goes. It wasn't perfect, nor was it the best, but a great WrestleMania with an incredible feel behind it. It had basically every single great wrestler and every legend you could ever want in a Mania, and it had Hulk Hogan's best match (which still wasn't good, but it was at least passable) against McMahon. Brock/Angle, HBK/Y2J, Austin/Rock...we had it all.
