Dark Matches-

The Gymini beat CM Punk and someone I couldn't catch the name with a double powerbomb on unknown. Loud "Simon sucks!" chant followed by my, "but I still like you!"

Matt Hardy beat Colt Cabana with the twist of fate. After the match Road Warrior Animal came and attacked Hardy with a chair.

Velocity-

Finley defeated Psicosis with the modified emerald fusion.

Kid Kash and Jamie Noble beat Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty when Noble and Kash hit a spear and lariat combo on Scotty.

Lashley defeated Vito with the dominator.

Smackdown-

Spanky and London beat MNM in a non title match. London roled up Mercury, I believe.

Booker T and Sharmell come to Teddy Long's office and show their restraining order against the Boogeyman.

Gunner (or Gunder...aka Brent Albright) Scott beat Booker T with a role up after the Boogeyman's music and lights turn on.

Promo of Chris Benoit congratulating Gunner Scott.

Chris Benoit beats Simon Dean with the Crippler Crossface.

Teddy Long announces a cage match for the US Title tonight, Benoit versus JBL. (This promo prolly won't air)

Backstage, Kurt Angle confronts Randy Orton. Orton mocks Angle and Angle slaps Orton. Angle is almost scary with intensity.

Rey Mysterio beats RAndy Orton to retain the World's Heaveyweight Championship. Rey hit two 619's and then the West Coast pop for the win. A very good match. Lots of Eddie chants. Surprisingly, there was a Eddie's not Rey counter chant.

Palmer Cannon issues a disclaimer for the following video.

A video for The Miz is played.
Krystal interviews Rey. Rey thanks his fans and brings out his family. A touching moment.

Paul Burchil and William Regal talk about their upcoming match. They agree that the winner will get to choose the loser's clothing.

Burchil beats Regal with a twisting urange/suplex manuever.

Promo which Teddy Long brings back the King of the Ring, featuring Lashley, Orton, Angle, Finley, and others that I cannot remember offhand. Next week it will start with Angle versus Orton.

Mark Henry cuts a promo I've could have done without. Daivari is his manager for a reason...

The Undertaker and Mark Henry go to a no contest. After brawling on the floor UT enters the ring. Daivari brings out Giant Singh. After a stare down, UT punches Singh to no effect. Singh then demolishes the Undertaker.

Bonus dark match: JBL retains the US Title in a steel cage against Chris Benoit. This match saw both competitors pay tribute to Eddie by using the three amigos. The cage itself was very flimsy and I personally would not have wanted to climb that. JBL got the win after tying Benoit to the cage with a disconnected tag rope.

YAY, Dalip Singh is here! That will be a huge mark-out moment there for me.

Woah, and KOTR? BAHGAWD ROX. Smackdown sounds awesome.

LMAO, so why didn't they debut him at Wrestlemania? It would have been perfect to have him attack after the match.

On the other hand, I can't complain with a debut on regular TV either, so it's good either way I guess. Might not be home to catch the show this Friday though; will prolly be going out.

Decent show though. If Orton's got a match booked next week, I guess he's not suspended (since the tapings were tonight, right, and news of his suspension broke earlier in the day...)?

So is this Albright's call-up? Is he permenant?

London and Spanky feuding with MNM

Holy shit! KING OF THE RING~!!!!!!!!!1!111

Hopefully they make it interpromotional and give them a PPV timeslot. Early picks are Bobby Lashley, Ken Kennedy & Paul Burchill, but I really, really hope they do something unpredictable with this.

Paul London & Brian Kendrick!

I hope they have Paul London vs. Brian Kendrick as a KOR Qualifying Match. That would be seven shades of awesome.

Randy Orton's suspension will probably kick in after he's lost his KOR Match to Kurt Angle.

Why the fuck can't they call Brent Albright, Brent Albright? Is there some kind of problem with his name? Is "Gunther Scott" supposed to be funny because Gunther is supposed to be a "funny" name? Call him "The Shooter" Brent Albright, and let him wrestle. How does that sound?

Punk was teaming with Sterling James Keenan(a poor mans Punk), just so you know.

I hope they give the King of the Ring Winner Triple H's new theme. Just change "Behold the King.....the King of Kings" in the intro to "Behold the King.......the King of the Ring".

rey is booring. KOTR is back, now the wwe is really thinking

What Would Kevin Do?
04-05-2006, 05:45 AM
Wow, this SMackdown looks really good.

I've been waiting for Dalip, BRent Albright is slick (Gunther?), the Miz videos have been good, the matches look good, and the King of the Ring is back. Raw wasn't bad either... Hmmm, 2 good looking shows in a row?

I'm curious to see how long until Albright is permanent, and Punk is brought up. I'd imagine they'd be on the same show due to their feuding in OVW. They know each other well, so WWE has an easy feud there they can make.

You know, maybe Vince decided instead of the draft this year, to just bring a bunch of guys up and back... Think about it. Osama, the Spirit Squad, now Albright, and soon Punk will have all come up from OVW, Jamal is back, and Test is probably on his way soon. Things may be looking up.

Everything sounds good here. Just one thing bothers me. Palmer Cannon. Seriously..... what does he do? I thought maybe when they brought him in he was a development talent waiting to debut(like Johnny Nitro with Bichoff). But still nothing. Anybody know?

Paul London and Brian Kendrik beating MNM =

Smackdown is pretty good this week. It's better then raw but that's not saying much and bringing back KOTR? That's fucking sweet.

Kendrick/London over MNM? Gay.

Mysterio over Orton? Gay.

If Orton's suspended though, I can see why they'd do it. Someone mentioned it up above. He'll probably be suspended after losing to Angle.

For the record, does anyone know what that's all about, anyway?

The spoilers say his name is possibly Gunner, not Gunther. But if it is Gunther, that's really gay.

SD sounds pretty good to me. I may actually watch this week. Bringing back KOTR is interesting. Didn't see that coming. So will it just be a tournament on SD I wonder? Like if the finals and everything are on TV, and not PPV, it doesn't have as epic a feel to it.

Yeah, I read a report saying it was Gunther, so I kinda spazzed out. It probably is Gunner. I mean, you can just imagine the meeting where that decision took place.

SMART ASS NICKELODEON WRITER: ...We could call him "Gunner". *sinks back in chair with smirk on his face*

STEPHANIE: OMG!!!!11!!1 I get it! In OVW Brent Albright was "The Shooter". Call him Gunner! Gunner, Shooter, Shooter, Gunner. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm not looking forward to Dalip. What experience could the guy have in the short time he's been training? I mean the guy is still really green isn't he? The WWE are asking for trouble. Where is Judgment Day being held? I hope the fans in attendence shit all over the match.

Actually, Singh made his debut in October, 2000 so by now he should be okay. However I suspect we are in line for the Giant Gonzalez vs Undertaker - take two.

Ive been watching him the last few years down here at OVW.His style is exactly like Benoits seeing as he was trained by him.His only problem is like Benoit he has no charisma whatsoever.Excellent in ring abilty terrible mic skills.
As for him changing his name to Gunner,WWE thought the name Brent Albright was just to plain. At least they let him come up with his in ring name though.
