View Full Version : I think I can predict where Wrestlemania will be held for the next 7 years

This may have already been done, but me and some guys were talking about it last week in Chicago, check it out:

Wrestlemania I = New York
Wrestlemania II = New York, Los Angeles and chicago
Wrestlemania III = Detroit
Wrestlemania IV = Atlantic City
Wrestlemania V = Atlantic City
Wrestlemania VI = Toronto
Wrestlemania VII = Los Angeles
Wrestlemania VIII = Indianapolis
Wrestlemania IX = Las Vegas
Wrestlemania X = New York

Now look at this:

Wrestlemania XX = New York
Wrestlemania XI = Los Angelas
Wrestlemania XII = Chicago
Wrestlemania XIII = Detroit

Looks like they are trying to repeat history again, so Atlantic City could be hosting 24 and 25 in theory.

Oh I also want to call this now, Big Show Vs Hogan at 23 to re-created the Andre/Hogan match of Mania 3

How'd that pan out anyway?

And it'd prolly be in Atlantic City for one year this time, not two. After all, NY only got one this time around whereas it had two (okay, one and a third) last time...

If they are gonna do Big Showw/Hogan then they need to start pushing Show as an unstoppable monster NOW.

I still can't understand how they held WM in 3 places at once.I just can't get my head around it.

I am so there if they go to AC. I wish they'd wait one year (the second one), though. That way I could hit the casino's there.

Well, each venue held a few matchs, and each place had their own announcers. I suppose when they weren't wrestling in "X Arena" there was a direct feed to the place they were.

I was thinking that, but then, i wouldn't pay for tickets for a live show just to see 1/3 of it actually live.(not on tv)I would think that I might as well just watch it on PPV.I'lld also be well pissed if another place got the better matches than the one i as in.

Also i hope WM comes to the UK one day, to wembley hopefully when its finished. That would be great and i'll definately be there no matter what.

I seriously doubt they are going back to Atlantic City. It was a different era. It was very hip to be associated with anything having to do with Donald Trump.

But that venue is rather small (14000 capacity) and is considered a little obsolete. And nothing else in Ac really jumps out as a big venue.

I think they'll head back to Houston or even try Philly rather soon.

They'll hold one in Indy once the new stadium gets built.

Yeah..I think you're right. I also think Miami is a pretty good pssibility too.

There are three new arenas/stadiums coming into the NYC area, Newark for the Devils and the Mets and Yankees are getting new stadiums, and I believe at least the Mets will get a retactable dome. So once those are done (2009-2011) they'll probably hold a Mania in the domed stadium, if they do dome it.

OH crap..thaey haven't been back to vegas since WM 9...Vegas is a must. It wouldn'tbe as cool as an NBA All Star game in Vegas...but still, what a weekend that would be.

Come back to Boston, damn it. With Summerslam here this year, Mania prolly won't be back for sometime.

The One
04-06-2006, 03:44 PM
If they did it in Vegas again, I think it would have to be promoted as a different kind of Mania. Have it take place in MGM Grand and have a shit load of celebrities come to the thing. It would take some work, but if they really tried, they could sell WrestleMania as a high class event...much like Boxing. It would piss off a few fans who couldn't get tickets, and I am not sure what the pay off would be...but I know Vince McMahon, and he would probably do it just to show that he could...and in the mind of McMahon, that's a good enough reason right there.

I also doubt as though Mania will be heading back to Atlantic City any time soon, as PureHatred pointed out, it was a different time, and actually Atlantic City has become something of a joke over the past decade or so.

My money personally rests on Manias being held in large cities...one that I am personally suprised about it never hosting Mania is Denver. It is certainly large enough, though I don't think they have any arenas large enough to satisfy. Plus I moved away from there a few years ago so I really don't care if they do have it at this point, but I am still kind of suprised to never hear Denver brought up as a potential location.

Oh and what's up with England getting the screw. Overseas is the only place on earth where they consistantly sell out...and that's for their pointless London only PPVs...They could take Europe's biggest arena (don't even know what it is or the stats of it, I am just talking big talk at this point) and sell it out in under 10 minutes if they really wanted to.

I've always figured that the WWE doesn't want the results of Mania (or any of their PPVs) to be spoiled hours before it's aired in the states.

The only way they could pull it off in this day and age is if there is NO delay and that it is taped at like 7PM in the UK and aired at like 1PM in the states, or whatever the delay is.

Otherwise, with the internet, the results would be out before it even aired in the states.

I say have it take place live overseas...make the Brits and everyone else stay up until 4 in the mourning or whatever...air it live at the corrct time in the West...

Hell their Euro Trash, they stay up until 5 in the mourning drinking their wine and bitching about America every day anyway...it's not like any of them have worth while to do during the day. :shifty:

With huge boxing events in the UK, they time it so that it's more convenient with the US audience. So bell time for the main events don't actually start until 2am here, whilst it starts at 9pm EST. I don't think it would be a real problem, I doubt us Brits would really mind it not starting until midnight. It's Wrestle-freakin'-Mania. It would be a pretty kick ass atmosphere if it didn't start until 12 asswell.

I was only 2 years old when it happened, how did they pull off Summerslam '92? With the time and everything.

After Detroit, I'd try go south for the next Mania. As someone has mentioned, Miami would be a good choice. Hell, even go into old WCW territory and have it in Atlanta. I'd also love to see it in Vegas again, or Wembley.

You have to remember, it wasn't about who was wrestling back then... it was about just being at Wrestlemania. Things were different back then. Plus, all three sites had some good matches (and you got to watch the other site's matches on giant video screens):

Nassau Coliseum:
"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff vs. "Magnificent" Don Muraco w/ Mr. Fuji went to a double countout
Randy "Macho Man" Savage w/ Elizabeth def. George “The Animal” Steele to retain his IC Title
Jake “The Snake” Roberts def. George Wells
Mr. T w/ Joe Frazier and the Haiti Kid def. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper w/ Cowboy Bob Orton by DQ in a Boxing MatchRosemont Horizon:

Fabulous Moolah def. Velvet McIntyre to become the new Women's Champion
Corporal Kirchner def. Nikolai Volkoff w/ Classy Freddie Blassie in a Flag Match
Andre the Giant def. Jimbo Covert (Chicago Bears), Pedro Morales, Tony Atlas, Ted Arcidi, Harvey Martin (Dallas Cowboys), Dan Spivey, Hillbilly Jim, King Tonga, Iron Sheik, Ernie Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers), Big John Studd, B. Brian Blair, Jumpin’ Jim Brunzell, Bill Fralic (Atlanta Falcons), Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, Russ Francis (San Francisco 49ers), Bruno Sammartino and William “Refrigerator” Perry (Chicago Bears) in the WWF/NFL Battle Royal
The British Bulldogs w/ Captain Lou Albano and Ozzy Osbourne def. The Dream Team, Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, w/ Luscious Johnny Valiant to become the new Tag Team ChampionsLos Angeles Memorial Sports Arena:

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat def. Hercules
"Adorable" Adrian Adonis w/ Jimmy Hart def. Uncle Elmer
Terry & Hoss Funk w/ Jimmy Hart def. Tito Santana & Junkyard Dog
Hulk Hogan def. King Kong Bundy w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan to retain the WWF Championship in a Steel Cage Match
They could pull this off if they wanted. It worked the first time, why the hell not try it again?

I'm not sure but I would be it was on a time delay.

There's a difference, though, with the internet. That's the one main thing that prevents them from having a tape delayed PPV.

PPVs weren't on many TVs back then... sometimes you went somewhere and watched it with only satellite feed and dark matches.

And as for Summer slam '92, that was before the internet.

Yep the new site in Indy is supposed to be awesome and it is promised a final four every five years I believe and WM coming back to Indy would be awesome.

How about the New Camp in Barcelona, Spain? 60,000+ seating capacity, then chairs on the pitch, in the middle of Spain so very little chance of rain for the event. Mysterio would be a God over there.

when we had the final four we fit just under 80,000 or so for a basketball game

now think of what you can do with mania, plus being close to the Canadien border draws in a shit load of fans...

Plus we got the MALL OF AMERICA dammit!!!
