Am I the only one that wonders where the hell WWE is going these days? Yes, while WWE still has its moments of greatness, they still lack that spark and effort that made them the # 1 wrestling company in America. This is by no means an anti-WWE post, as I still enjoy WWE, Raw, and SmackDown. But, you know something is up when it looks like they put more effort into a one-time show[Saturday Night's Main event] than in both of their weekly show[RAW & SmackDown].

Both shows end very predictably and there are very few moments you couldn't have seen coming a mile away.

For example: The Rey Mysterio "Road to Wrestlemania". Who here couldn't predict his upset over Angle & Orton? For the casual fan watching, you had to notice more emphasis being put on Mysterio's journey than Orton and/or Angle's. They used Eddie Guerrero's name like it was going out of style simply to put Mysterio over.

That being said, I'm not anti-Mysterio. However, he's a FREAKIN' cruiserweight. That weight limit in the World Heavyweight Title division is 220-225 lbs. Mysterio falls DRASTICALLY short of this. His ring work is good, however, his mic skills leave alot to be desired. This, coupled with him basically using Guerrero's death kinda irritates me. I was just as upset and saddened by Eddie Guerrero's death as the rest of the wrestling world. Mysterio is NOT Guerrero. He'll never be the mat technician Eddie was and can only be an underdog character who depends on high-spot wrestling to pop the crowd.

Meanwhile, one of Eddie's closest relatives, Chavo is being ruined in credibility. His "quitting" only further tarnished what little credibility he had going. I thought Chavo was gonna carry on the Guerrero legacy? Chavo has the size, credibility, mic skills, and overall package to be World Champion. Why WWE capatilizes on this is beyond me. Point? Chavo is as close to Eddie as you could get, yet, he's not using his uncle's name for career sake nor is he being used.

Another example: Crowd reactions. WWE has a major problem listening to the fans. John Cena has been booed the majority of the last 3-6 months. Yet, they force him down our throats and keep him on top[when there are SO many more deserving talents].

Bottom line: It just seems to me like WWE are concentrating solely on cruising by instead of actually giving the wrestling fans what they want. Maybe this is because of lack of major competition[though TNA is starting to up their game, it will be awhile before they are a serious threat]. Whatever the case is, hopefully[as a wrestling and WWE fan] the WWE will improve and stop "phoning it in" so to speak.

What has really irritated me most about Rey Mysterio's push, is that Chris Benoit & Chavo Guerrero really got nothing from Eddie's death, yet Mysterio is being given a Royal Rumble win and the World Heavyweight Title. Why Chavo, who was in a very similiar position as Mysterio not even two years ago, gets nothing is beyond me.

And when you consider Chavo is closer to Eddie's "brother" than Rey was, it's really asinine.

I'm not even sure Chavo should have gotten what Rey got, but he'd at least make more sense. fighting for his family's honour, especially.

Congratulations. You're number 546168743th to say this.

Unless you've been under a rock or not paying attention, I've not posted here in 2-3 months. I've not seen a post that goes into two different topics and as in-depth as my post, but, say what ya will[as I don't care :p ].

I was simply making conversation and trying to see how many people are actually as fed up as I am with WWE screwing up.

And when you consider Chavo is closer to Eddie's "brother" than Rey was, it's really asinine.

My sentiments exactly. While Rey is a skilled cruiser, he's hardly World Title worthy. Chavo has profited NONE off of Eddie's death while Rey has basically used it as a catalyst for his main-event push. While this is partly WWE's fault, Rey has used it just as much. Chavo is the better all around wrestler, yet, has "quit" the company. Go figure :n: .

Benoit is the same. The only area Benoit needs drastic improvement is mic skill[s]. This may entail a heel turn, but, Benoit needs to learn to work the mic. Far as in-ring goes, Benoit is the # 1 technician WWE has[debatable though, considering Angle is great too].

It's not just the two areas I mentioned either. There are also other things like not knowing what to do with which talents, burying of good talent, pushing of gimmicky type wrestlers["The Miz", "Boogeyman", "Umaga", etc]. WWE basically resorts to half-assing when they are fully capable of awesome weekly shows. Take this year's Wrestlemania for example. It had its brief good moments, but, overall, it sucked. How many past Manias can you say that of?

Benoit is gold on the mic when he's angry.

Take the promos he cut on Paul Heyman holding him back, and in WCW derailing Hogan and Co., derailing Sullivan.

Calm, collected, and trying to be The Rock or even John Cena is not Benoit's forte.

WM sucked eh??

that's like saying Cena is the best champ in WWE history.

C'mon!! i had to argue this shit with 3 people at a WM party i went to here in NC. I had to explain why foley lost and why JBL "cheated" to win the US title

this is odd but i wish i had KK in my phone to make fun of these dipshits i run into that are retarded when it comes to storylines.

WM 22 was great IMO! great storys and most of the matches you could carry over into following PPVs

Kurt Angle won the NCAA Heavyweight Title (the first time) weighing 180 pounds - not much more than Rey right now. BAHGAWD KURT ANGLE WAS JUST A CRUISERWEIGHT.

I hope not.:p But why do you ask? I was just (in a way, I guess...) asking why people make such a fuss of Rey Mysterio's title win because of his weight. Personally, I'm not a great fan of his, but this is pro wrestling, so if winning a heavyweight title in amateur wrestling can be done at under 200lbs (Kurt Angle was the first), why not in pro wrestling?

Because...It's pro wrestling. You fucking answered yourself.

In the real world, I saw a guy who was on crutches take down multiple "attackers" because the guy is a sick martial artist. In the real world, little guys can win. In the real world, your entertainment skills mean fuck all in a fight and you'd have to be an idiot to pump up your shoes or do a jig before an elbow drop.

This isn't the real world. This is wrestling.

I don't have a problem with Rey Mysterio winning the World Heavyweight Championship due to his size, if anything his size if the reason I WANT to see him hold the belt (it opens up the door for more cruisers).

Hopefully Chavo Guerrero gets drafted to SmackDown! and actually gets a chance to prove his worth to the company. Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero may not be the "biggest" match on the planet, but it would make for a great stop between feuds for Mysterio.

Don't ask me why, but I have a feeling that JBL will face Rey Mysterio at Judgment Day. Maybe he'll help out Vince at Backlash (as "God"), or he'll bring up the old US Champion is default #1 Contener rule, but I can just see a Champion vs. Champion match with BOTH belts on the line. Mysterio then wins the US Title and offers to hand it over to Chavo, Guerrero then snaps claiming he doesn't need sympathy, he will get their on ability.

He could then do the heelish thing and take the US Title from Rey, anyway.

I knew this had probably been said before, just didn't know how long ago. Besides, I'm sure if this were discussed before, it probably wasn't as in-depth. I was just making basic critiques of WWE overall.....

WM sucked, eh?

That's like saying Cena is the best champ in WWE history

Usually when you compare something, they have to be somewhat alike. I fail to see how WM sucking compares with saying "Cena=best WWE champ ever[paraphrasing]".

Like I said, WWE has its brief moments of greatness. The HBK/McMahon match was awesome, Cena/HHH was so-so[entrances were a nice touch though :y:], the Money In The Bank Ladder match was good[as usual], and Orton/Mysterio/Angle was good. The Foley/Edge hardcore match was great as well. The rest of the show pretty much blew.

JBL/Benoit wasn't exactly a classic. Benoit was his usual self, but, it's hard to carry JBL to a decent match when all he does is brawl. He's beginning to brawl more than wrestle. Don't get me wrong. JBL is entertaining. However, to say that match was anything above mediocre would be an understatement.

Booker/Boogeyman was freakin' pointless, as are all Boogeyman related storylines.

Taker/Henry lasted too long and the only saving graces were the plancha Taker used outta nowhere, and the fact that Taker remains undefeated @ Mania.

Mickie/Trish was o.k., but, it was a bit too long as well and you could tell the attempted Stratusfaction spot was blown.

Masters/Carlito vs. Kane/Taker was meaningless as its only purpose was to setup the feud with Masters/Carlito[which again, could be seen a mile away].

WWE has been taking the easy road much too often lately. Their product reflects this very fact. Mania had its brief moments, however, think about it. WrestleMania is supposed to be the show of all shows. The super bowl of pro wrestling. Ask yourself one simple question: Did anything done @ Wrestlemania really stand out? Yes, it did setup some good possible feuds. However, nothing that was done was really earth-shattering. I just hope WWE improves more sooner than later.....

It's not a matter of time, but the number of times (Ad nauseum), and the fact that people HAVE been significantly more in depth than you.
