I like how RVD is doing outside the ring in his last few promos, last night (april 10th for you readers from the future oooeeeoooo) for example he looked really honest like he was about to walk away from the interviewer, it was a pretty good promo.

His in ring work needs to go back to more counter heavy stuff and not the same moves he always does. He need to regain that technical prowess he used to have. Even include some kick ass spots but not just do the same predictable stuff. It's almost Hoganesque at points.

Discuss.

RVD's promos were better in the days of yore too.

they were way better back in ECW. But they're the best they've been since he's been in WWE.

I disagree. They're better than they've been in a couple years, but hardly the best.

GRanted, I'm happy any time he's said more than "dude..."

But seriously, if we're gonna wish for the old RVD in ring, we might's well wish for him to come back outside as well.

So after the Invasion angle, how many collective lines did RVD have? 20? 25?

I'm talking from SurviorSeries 2001 to last week's promo, not count One Night Stand.

I'd love to see a collection of every RVD promo since he got in wwe. The best promo WAS( now that i think about it) back in the ECW invasion angle with Bubba Ray ... I almost cried.

I absolutely loved all of Rob Van Dam's promo's back in ECW.

The only two promo's from the WWE RVD Era that I have absolutely 100% loved was his One Night Stand shoot and when he showed up on Carlito's Cabana.

His promo on RAW after Wrestle Mania was kind of lacking, but it didn't matter because fans were going ape for him anyways. His promo on RAW this past Monday was better, but still not great... then again they didn't even bother turning his enterance music off.

I think not turning the entrance music off made it better. More ECW spontanious.

RVD isn't that great on the Mic IMO, most of his ECW promo's where alot more relaxed and seemed alot less forced than they do now, he seems to respond better to a camera one on one than and entire crowd also.

Alot of the so-called "bad mic workers" such as Van Dam, Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, etc probably haven't been given the green light[so to speak] to say what they want to get their characters "over"[ala Austin, Rock, HHH].

The best promos are the ones where wrestlers have to actually think on their feet. Which is impossible for some, but, better for others. Sink or swim situation. I'm sure if Van Dam were given freedom to work the mic, he'd be awesome[ala ECW old days].

His promos of late have been improving and I'd like to see it continue with a big push for RVD. He definetely deserves a title run[although WWE seems to be intent and content to hold him down]. It'll be interesting to see how ECW One Night Stand 2 all turns out....

If he could say what he wanted whenever he wanted, he'd be kicked off the network for swearing too much and talking about drugs! :)

I used to love the promo's when he was Tag Team Champs with Sabu, but also had the TV Title. The animosity from Sabu was awesome and RVD's jabs at Sabu were hilarious, all while Fonzie was trying to be the mediator.

RVD (after insulting Sabu): "It's ok, alot of my friends are freaks."

I miss that RVD.

Yeah, those promo's were pretty brilliant. RVD acting like a complete cocky asshole by taking knocks at Sabu when he's two feet away from him, meanwhile Fonzie is holding Sabu back.

Paul Heyman is brilliant for realizing that just RVD alone on the mic ain't exactly everything he needs in order to fully get himself order as the arrogant fuck he came off as. So, he finds ways to compensate.

I mean, half the time Sabu and Fonzie did not even say anything but just the fact that Paul Heyman had the sense to have them in the background with RVD taking shots at them made RVD look like a MILLION BUCKS.
