The WWE $250,000 Diva Search returns
April 12, 2006
As first reported by WWE’s new Mobile Alert system, the WWE $250,000 Diva Search is returning. Casting will begin this June, and aspiring Divas 18 years of age and older will have the opportunity to enter.
This year’s Diva Search, unlike in the past, will be held on both RAW and SmackDown. Current WWE Divas that have come through prior Diva Searches include Ashley, Candice, Maria and Kristal. Are you the next WWE Diva? Check back here soon on information on how you can enter.

Okay, I take back what I said in that other thread about there not being anything that makes me change the channel. I'm proud to say I haven't watched a diva segment yet, and I'm not going to now.

The worst part of this news is it will be on both Raw and Smackdown! :|

Pretty funny that they didn't mention the first diva contest winner.

This is the worst news I've heard all day. :nono:
Well, atleast it's on both brands this year, so the air time won't be hogged specifically from Raw. :-\ But still, it's completely pointless, nobody cares, and in all the time and effort they invest into this thing, they could develop a really good mid card feud, or use it to develop the tag divsion more. Someone should tell Vinny that attractive matches at PPVs instead of a few dumb bimbos running around a ring makes = $$$.
Oh well, gives you a chance to make full use of the fast forward button on your TiVo I guess.

O it said Current WWE Divas, but still she was the first winner so you would think she would get some recongition of some kind.

What time? It's kind of hard to subtract from zero.

The cruiserweights actually seem to be getting *some* attention these days. We now will now have Paul London & Jamie Noble come out for a potential classic, only for the Divas to march out with stupid signs and walk around the ring, as Paul London & Jamie Noble stop putting on a clinic, look and smile at these ladies, then go to the back as if there wasn't even a match. Hoorah.
If they really want to hire useless whores, why not have them simply accompany existing talent to the ring, then have fans vote on who is their favourite? I mean, it's not like the Diva Search shows off anything that wouldn't be seen during a Paul London vs. Jamie Noble match with two potential Divas serving as their valets.

Also, what's the point in having the contest? Why don't they just narrow the field down to the top five, then hire them all, since that's what they're going to do anyway.
lol my god.. i'm not even surprised, but wow

YEY! Now twice as many people can be held down.
God damn, nothing like a Diva Search to patch up that glass celing.

Weak.
Wait, wasn't last year's like 10 weeks? If they do it on both shows they could potentially get it over in one month.
Better than sitting through it from what, July to September?

I was thinking something like this, too, but then I realised the WWE will probably double the number of contestants. :(

I don't know, I can almost see WWE doing something like have the contestants go for a week, plead their case on the second Raw, and have a "results" show on SD!, a la American Idol. WWE still gets double the exposure and doesn't have to fly double the girls around.

To me it's a double edged sword. One side says sweet it goes by faster. The other side says save us the trouble and money and bring back Stacy Keibler already. All losers get picked up by NBC to hold a briefcase on Deal or No Deal. I saw Leyla and one or two others on that show so far.

So you guys get Deal or No Deal in the US?Is it a US version or the UK version?

Yeah. Howie Mandel hosts the show. 25 briefcases ranging from .01 to 1,000,000 bucks. Hot chicks open the briefcases. Your typical gameshow.

Until Greg Helms got hurt, they were doing a great job of pushing the division...

This is why WWE doesn't sink...it has the implants to keep it afloat.

I'm just being an ass. I have noticed that the cruisers have been getting more time on Smackdown. Hell, Super Crazy and Psychosis have been on Smackdown way more than anyone expected... and not as jobbers either. I hope when Helms is good to go, he and the rest of the cruisers are featured more.
But seriously, the diva search is soooooooooo boring!

Does anyone else think it's more than a coincidence that on the same month the WWE initiates a new Diva search that they also hire back Shannon Moore? Conclusive proof, I think so...
