So I saw this week's Impact and Spike debuted. He hit the ACID DROP (which it's once agian called) but they never called him by name. Well, I went to TNA's site and have found what they're calling him...

Ladies and Gentlemen...

BROTHER RUNT!

:wtf:

They can't use Spike or Dudley...considering they are calling Bubba and D-Von Brother Ray and Brother Devon....Brother Runt isn't too bad. It's not like Brother Matt would be any better.

Sadly, I called this to someone (May have been Xerxes or Shadow), in a joking matyter.

Well of course they can't use Dudley or Spike, but Runt? Come on, get a bit more original than that. The other two have actual NAMES.

Brother Matt would be better than Runt to be honest. "Runt" sounds like a generic jobber's name.

I just realized that I said "Runt" was generic and then put over a name with "Brother" in it...

And my point has been made.

Fuck Vince. I'd have called them the Dudleys and said "see you in court".

Good for Spike. He's a no talent bum so I'm impressed that he's managed to get another job with a top fed.

btw, how big is D'Von looking now. I see TNA haven't issued the same drugs policy as the WWE.

D'Von has never looked better.

TNA can't afford to go to court with Vince.

The Hell they can't.

Something with the initials LSD would have been nice. Larry Scott Deadly? Little Still Deadly? Many possibilities. Or you maybe you could just call him Little Spike Deadly? Brother Runt is just...meh.

Brother LSD would have worked...

I can understand not just calling him "Spike". But could they really be sued for the name "Brother Spike"?

Since they're calling D-Von "Brother D-Von" and getting away with it, I'd say they'd be safe going with "Brother Spike."

but with TNA's history for logical management...

They are calling him Brother Devon (Not D-Von the gimmick spelling) since his real name is Devon. Notice they don't call Brother Ray; Brother Bubba Ray...because Bubba Ray is copyrighted. No, he can not use the words "Spike" or "Dudley" in any way shape for form.

Spike's a good worker. Just limited in size and power

Fuck, I forgot about that.

You're right Spike isn't bad...but he doesn't need to be good. His entire purpose in life is to be the little beating bitch...and let's be honest, he does that well. He is also marketable as a beating bitch.

"Brother Runt" ?

I'm glad to see they called his move the "Acid Drop", but, Brother Runt isn't a good name. Maybe "Brother Matt" would have been better suited, seeing as DeVon is using his real name.

Just judging from the "Runt" name they are gonna make him the Mysterio underdog of TNA

They should have called him Lil' Brother.

Hired Hitman

"Brother Spyke" or "LSD/Brother LSD" are good, he could even do a RVDish Taunt

Impact!
04-17-2006, 05:46 AM
They could have just gotten an Australian Announcer to say his name whenever he's on screen, then instead of Spike it would be Spoike :shifty:

Fuck Vince. I'd have called them the Dudleys and said "see you in court".

Indeed.
WWE Legal's priorities are out of whack. They should be figuring out moreso how to put the fires out of the bridges they've burned so that their home videos won't look like shit. Come on, you think "Jamal" is gonna go in that "Umaga" gimmick if he gets the boot from WWE?

I actually expected LSD... with the "Acid Drop" being the name of his finisher...

I asked 3-4 people if they called him anything. You and Xerxes are the only ones I remember by name. I made a lot of cracks about it, afterwards.

I'd like to see someone sue WWE for the damaging practices they have. This really does hurt the wrestling industry by limiting intellectual properties.

Afterlife

lol, That'd be great; you'd be suing Vince for repairations.

Fuck Vince. I'd have called them the Dudleys and said "see you in court".Funny thing is that he has been wrestling as Spike Dudley at IWA-MS. Then again Kip James also wrestled there as Billy Gun.

Its also kinda hard to sue yourself.

On the subject of Bubba Ray, couldn't TNA have gone back to the "Buh-Buh" spelling? Does the WWE still own that name?

Not owned. They could, but they still couldn't use te Dudley name or anything like that, so maybe a clean break would have been better.
