View Full Version : Is Chris Benoit better of on Raw or Smackdown?

I'm going to say Smackdown.
Benoit fits in with the roster better. Not taking anything away from some of the Raw superstars, but Smackdown seems to be the brand where wrestling gets you over more than character. Raw seems to be the brand where character gets you over more than wrestling.
Secondly, as long as Triple H is healthy, Raw is a disease. The letters HHH are to wrestling what the letters HIV are to life. It doesn't mean you're totally f</>ucked, but chances are pretty good you are.
Besides Jericho and Lance Storm, I can't think of too many people that can give Beniot a good 5 star match.

Smackdown, which is the more wreslting-oriented show. Plus Lesnar WAS in a hot feud with Lesnar.

Smackdown, which is why he's on Raw...

Smackdown allowed Benoit to get his wrestling over. Now it's time for his character to go over, which RAW will definitely help. Then when he wins the strap at XX, then Benoit will be the total package. He doesn't need to be charismatic like the Rock or John Cena. He talks when he needs to talk and that's all he needs. His mat skills talk for itself. Benoit on RAW is the best option.

The letters HHH are to wrestling what the letters HIV are to life  That's my new sig.
I said Raw, only because I don't get Smackdown.

Indecisive at this point until I see more RAW episodes and the WMXX outcome. Other than that I agree with the post about his wrestling over on SmackDown and his character over on RAW. That's a good point/analysis.

he is smackdown. how many bonified wrestlers do you see on Raw?
like one, maybe two or three.
Smackdown is where the real wrestling is and that is where he fits best in. now he is ummmmmm....gonna have nothin to work with
perhaps Christian, RVD and Randy Orton :y:
then theres booker t if you watched wcw you would have seen best of 7. trips can still wrestle when he wants too.
Definitely Smackdown since the whole "you'll never get a title shot as long as I'm (Heyman) GM of Smackdown!" angle was ended abruptly, and facing the WWE Champion at Wrestlemania is clearly a better match than him facing Triple H.

You said it wrong: I think with the way they changed the match, Benoit is now going to be a footnote in a feud and if the match sucks, will be the one to take the blame.
I seriously Hope I'm wrong here. If not, then:

In the short term he was better off on Smackdown, because he had a program set up with Brock, that now cant go anywhere, and instead he'll be in a fued with HHH with no real issue.
However, if you look beyond Brock, he would have been lost in the shuffle. Taker is coming back, who knows if he'll get another big push (depending on how over he is with the new/old gimmick), Edge will be back (I'd asusme with a big push), Cena is the most over babyface on SD along with Eddie, who are both more popular than Benoit. So that kind of leaves Benoit in a #5 posiiton on the babyface side, which means a lot of US Title matches.
Now he could have done a heel turn, but I dont think that was ever planned.
On RAW, there is a shortage of babyfaces that might get pushed. Yeah there is BT and RVD, but they are mid carders for life, so they dont count. Jerihco is in the middle of a face turn, and will likely be the #2 face on RAW next to HBK. So that puts Benoit in at #3, which is better than #5.
Plus, at leats with Benoit on RAW, there is a chance that both he and Eddie will hold world titles, instead of just one of them.
The reason I like Benoit on RAW is that he can help guys like Orton and Christian become main event heels, and he can improve the match quality over there (SD already has enough good workers). Yeah he's going to get burried by HHH at some point, but hey at least it wont be HHH vs Nash, at least the RAW main events will be solid with Benoit involved.

Is it really that big of a deal he didn't use a colon properly? LOL, all I ever see is, "fix your grammar" or "revise your posts". Who really gives two shits? This isn't a ****ing English lit. forum, it's an ONLINE WRESTLING FORUM.
People never cease to amaze me.

Although I thought that Benoit was perfect for Smackdown, I must say that it's time to give him a chance to shine on Raw. Can't wait till he makes HHH tap out at Wrestlemania XX

And to answer your question, definately SD. For one, there's just alot more "money" feuds for him over there, with Cena, Eddie, Angle, or Lesnar. The only people on RAW are HHH and Jericho, and with HHH it is questionable if Benoit will really be put over. Plus, as has been stated, SD is the more wrestling based show, and I think Benoit would get over better on SD. I also thought that Benoit & Cena had great chemistry together, and would have loved to have seen them continue their little relationship.

Punctuation? Oh, I thought he was trying to say I was being Anal Retentive, which I can be at times.
I do try to use punctuation as well as possible. It doesn't always work, though. If it has to do with all the characters, that was intentional.
