Lots of different opinions in the NBA thread, so I made this thread to see who you guys think is the real MVP. I gotta go with Kobe

It was down to Kobe,Nash, and Chauncy for me. In the end though I picked Nash even though I doubt he will win it, since he already won it last year. But I still personally believe he should be the mvp, however i think the award will go to Kobe this year.

LL Cool G: Wouldn't the same be true for the the Lakers then? Of course i mean without Kobe in the lineup how good would the Lakers be? And to a lessor extent the suns without nash?

Exactly my thoughts when I read that post.

I had a tough time choosing between Billups and Nash. Both guys make everyone around them better, have the remarkable ability to always make the right pass, and are great leaders. What put Chauncey over the top for me was his ability to make the big shot with the game on the line.
Carmelo Anthony should be on that list

And the fact that Nash is a terrible defender.
Anyway, I've got to go with Nash. He makes everyone on that team better, and they are a 35 win team without him. Just look at the 03-04 Suns. They had Shawn Marion and Amare Stoudemire healthy all year and didn't even make the playoffs.

Well i was also thinking that Bryants scoring would have to be that high considerrng the number of shots he takes per game? Considering his supporting cast I guess I could see why.
I would have to say nash just based on the fact everyone thought the suns would not do as great as they did last year, since they lost 2 starters, amare went down, new supporting cast and so on. But the team did pretty well, nash improved his stats, and made better players of his supporting cast( most are having career years). But, since he won last year its either gonna be Billups or Bryant.

Yes, thats the other thing too, not the greatest defender. With his style of play as well the number of turnovers I noticed he has per game is highest in the league i think? I know its pretty high though.
Heck, there are many good contenders for MVP it all depends on what your definition of an mvp is.

I love how Young Buck says Tennessee. Tennekee. I still can not get over Kobe's dunk on Nash. Absolutely sick.

Didn't see it, but it's not that impressive for a 6'6" guy to dunk over a what, 6'1" guy?

How bout Kobe's dunk on Dwight Howard then? Well, you should see the dunk, I think you would be kinda impressed. I'm talkin bout the one on Nash. It was clearly a charge by Kobe, but hey, I'll take that call anyday. Someone should post a video of it.

Yeah I remember the announcers saying at the end of the game about an obvious Kobe charge. Guess that's what they were referring to?

Yeah it seems thats what they were referring to. Seemed like a charge to me, but i'm still surprised that Kobe did not win the MVP this year. Man I love the Suns/Lakers series :)
