in this thread, can some of you RVD fans - those who have lobbied for years that RVD should be world champion - can you please explain yourselves.

i did not have access to ECW, but what is clear is that RVD hasnt done shit in the 5 or 6 years that he has been in wwe. i'll give him one or two good matches, but that's all i can give him. for the most part, his matches are contrived spot-fests.

his offense looks about as believable as Misterio's, and he may be the only wrestler who is worse on the mic than Rey. basically, he comes off as very green, but he has been in the business for years. i could see potential were he younger and just breaking into the business; if that were the case, i would think he could be someday fill the role that Shawn Micheals held in the mid-nineties. but he has not grown or improved in any way since coming to wwe.

i am not trolling or trying to start an arguement here (although it seems inevitable). i just want some of you guys that think RVD is a great wrestler or entertainer to be honest with me, and be honest with yourselves and explain what makes you cheer for this man.

His ECW days.

Almost everyone gets toned down when they come to the WWE. RVD is one of the biggest examples. He was huge in ECW. Huge and innovative (yeah, I said it) moveset and he could do great promos.

The WWE have not let RVD just be himself.

You really need to watch some ECW stuff and you'll see what I mean.

Fans of RVD are holding onto the hope they someday WWE will let him be the RVD of the ECW era. Plus there is always the fact that people will cheer for whoever they want for what ever reasons they want.

I will say one thing, Rob Van Dam has NOT improved since getting in WWE. His natural style isn't a fit in WWE, so why doesn't he adapt his style? He is getting great money and is a in a great place in the company...bend a little and be more flexible.

Why? Like you said, he's being paid great money and is in a great place. WWE knows they can't lose him because he could be a huge blow if he went to TNA. So I say just wait it out, collect the money, and see if the WWE bends for him.
