WELCOME TO WEEK 50 OF RATE THE TAG TEAM!!! Who would of thought this would make it this far? To all the naysayers I say fuck you.

Last time we rated the team of Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge, Public Enemy. They managed to score a very respectable 77. Tying themselves with The Nasty Boys which to me seems fitting. Well here we go with Week 50's tag team.

This is a team that some would call rip-offs. Maybe they were and maybe they wern't. What they definitely are is one of the greatest tag teams of the 80's. This team held the WWE tag team titles 3 times and still hold the record for the longest title reign. They held those belts for appoximately 16 months and had many great matches with The Hart Foundation, The Brain Busters and The British Bulldogs. They were managed on and off by Mr. Fuji and had 4 different members. Randy Culley was one of the original members but soon after left the WWE and was replaced. At the end of their run they added another member, Crush. They were also managed by Johnny V for a short time. This is AX and SMASH ... this is DEMOLITION!!!

Horrible. Terrible. Completly filled with suck...and that's just my opinion of the ratings they are getting so far.

How anyone could vote them better then a 5 is beyond me. And that's if you LIKED them. I don't think they are a rip off of Road Warriors, casue damn it that would insult the Road Warriors to say something like that. They are a shitty team, with shitty skills, and a horrible B gimmick. If they were around today they would get boo'd out of the arenas and the only reason you guys are voting them so high is because you remember them from when you were kids and you thought they kicked ass. They don't. You were wrong then, and you are wrong now.

1.0 - And if you count them as anything higher then 1.0...like if you somehow count them as a 1.1 from me,

yea, I didn't copy that last part :(

Demolition is a Top Ten tag team in my mind for sure. They were a very devastating tag team with a lot of skill. They wern't the GREATEST in the ring but they were very capable of having a decent match with any tag team. The crowd loved them and they really knew how to work the crowd as well. The gimmick was absolutely fine and their theme music was one of the best. They were also good on the mic so I don't know where you are getting this from. This is just my opinion though.

lmao at The One. He's kinda right though. The nostalgia is definitely there with Demolition, but the talent wasn't.

4 - And that's being fairly generous, because The One completely raped them of any dignity they might've had.

Awesome. Terirfic. Completly filled with awesomeness...and that's just my opinion of the ratings they are getting so far.

How anyone could vote them better then a 10 is beyond me, cause you can only give a maximum of 10 lol. And that's if you LOVED them. I don't think they are a rip off of Road Warriors, casue damn it they owned the Road Warriors in every aspect. The Road Warrrios are a shitty team, with shitty skills, and a horrible B gimmick. If they were around today they would get boo'd out of the arenas and the only reason you guys are voting them so high is because you remember them from when you were kids and you thought they kicked ass. They don't. You were wrong then, and you are wrong now.

9.0 - And if you count them as anything higher then 9.0...like if you somehow count them as a 10.1 from me, I probably still love you

my vote? 2.3

3 time tag team champions, cool. Demolition's greatest accomplishment is that they were the best Road Warrior impersonators of their time. I'll give them their props, though:

1. Good theme
2. Good finish.
3. after Demolition, Smash went into his best role: The Repo Man!

All in all, though, they're a second rate Road Warriors. The 'E would have held them in higher regard except for one thing: They got the real deal in '91 and while the feud was good, everyone saw through the fact that, when compared side by side, Demolition wasn't the Road Warriors.

I'm just going to post what I posted when LC did his Demolition vs Road Warriors thread:

If the WWF hadn't had so much more exposure than the NWA/WCW during this time period this wouldn't even be a discussion. Hawk and Animal were both amazing workers, were both intimidating as hell, and could both cut entertaining promos.

Even if you look past the fact that the gimmick was a complete knock-off of the Road Warriors, the two guys in the Demolition gimmick were generic brawlers with very little charisma and had to be carried by better workers in order to have anything resembling a good match. They had decent matches with Strikeforce, the Hart Foundation, the Brainbusters, and the Britsh Bulldogs, but think of the talent involved in those teams. And its no coincidence that Barry Darsow (Smash) would end up being the Repo Man and Mr Hole in One.

Demolition sucked. They looked cool, but they sucked. Comparing the Roadies to these tow is a complete waste of time.

I give them a 5.
