View Full Version : Kurt Angle injured?

Speculation has arisen that Kurt Angle could have injured himself at this week’s SmackDown tapings in London, England. Angle was seen leaving Wembley Arena holding his arm and shoulder. While he may have been doing this to sell it to the fans, the referee threw up the “X” sign after camera stopped rolling, the “X” sign is usually a sign that a wrestler has suffered a legitimate injury. It is possible that the injury occurred when Mark Henry (who has been known to injure people in the ring) connected with a running splash through a table on Angle.

Remember that Angle is working through serious neck problems, as he is in severe pain most days after he had his neck fused together back in 2003. Some backstage say that Angle shouldn’t even be working and should be out for several months, however, refuses to slow down and chooses to work through the pain. posted:

I reported earlier that Kurt Angle could have been injured at this week’s SmackDown tapings, those reports appear to be correct. Angle is being held off of shows, including television tapings as he was originally scheduled for Tuesday’s SmackDown! tapings in Cincinnati against Mysterio and Henry in a triple threat match, but has now been replaced by JBL.

I think Kurt should retire before he does any more damage to his body.

Kurt should of had a long time off to recover a long time ago. Overworked like crazy.

Didn't they do that X symbol when Flair hurt himself at WrestleMania 22? Then he came back, good as new. I thought it was a sign of legitimacy, until that happened.

I think it was Test who ruined the whole X symbol when he faked an injury on RAW. But I am a huge Angle fan, and as much as I love to see him compete on a weekly basis, he really is the most prone to injury. His body has been through alot. As much as I hate to see him retire, it's probably best he do so, so he is able to still walk.

Yeah, Kurt should talk to the Dynamite Kid.

Is not most of Dynamite's problems today directly related to him not hanging up the boots when his body was breaking down?

Well, as far as I know, the X symbol IS still used in the WWE. It's that when they're going to do a spot for it on TV, they have a backup signal they use that show for a real injury. The rest of the time, the 'X' still works. And particularly if it's at a house show, there's no need to fake it.

What concerns me more is that Henry's now injured two of the last three SmackDOWN! champs. Rey is SO <s>squashed</s> screwed.

Henry: 'If I can't have the belt, I'll injure all the main eventers until I'm the only one left! :D'

I don't think Mark Henry is that bad on the mic, but yeah he is useless in all other departments. But at least I can take a piss break and not miss anything important.

fucking Mark Henry, useless fat bastard.

Agreed. I don't see why they fire so many useful talents and push Mark freakin' Henry. He hasn't had a good match since entering the WWE.

Sad about Angle too. He's one of the best WWE performers. It would suck to see his career end too soon....

Is it just me or has Angle started to seem a bit like stone cold. I believe Angle will go on to become just as popular.

My statements on this are as follows:

Why, in the name of god, are they putting Main Event people, people they cannot AFFORD to lose to injury, against Mark Henry, who has a tendency to INJURE PEOPLE?!?!

Thats it.Mark Henry has to fucking go now.How many more of smackdowns main eventers must he injure before WWE realises he isn't that good in the ring?Fuck it, if they dont fire Mark Henry then i am not watching smackdown until they do.Whats the point if all my favourite wrestlers are getting injured by him?

And you know soemthing, this is one too many times that this has happened with Mark henry, he's either a) just careless and doesnt respect his opponents enough or b) is deliberately injuring main eventers so he can get back up to the main event spot, even though he knows nobody gives a shit about him.

He's not good for business either way.

Not even Angle can carry this piece of shit to a decent match.

Damn...I hope he's alright.

I think Kurt should have time to rest up and come back as healthy as he can be.

I heard he was hurt before the tapings, and the splash through the table is a storyline for him to take some time off

^^^ I'd hope so too. For Henry's sake. Oh, and I just realized it was a SD show taping, not a regular house show, so that opens the door for Kane to come in.

Man, what a main event clusterfuck.

Two good things may come of this:

1) They push Chris Benoit

2) They consider ending the brand split

I have always defended the draft, and I don't think SmackDown! is doomed without Angle, but let's face it. If we had RAW and SmackDown! come together again, as well as Heat and Velocity being used mainly for wrestling, we wouldn't have need for Mark Henry in the main event, and there would be alternates to John Cena.

What if Henry were to injure Cena

Corkscrewed

I'd still hate him, and I'd feel sorry for Cena, since it's not like the guy's a jerk or anything. And even then, you don't wish actual harm on wrestlers, no matter how politicky they are.

The Brand split won't end because of a coupel of injuries.

That's not completely true.I wish harm on Mark Henry for all the injuries he's caused other wrestlers in the past.
