Anyone know what this is about? Is it a real initiation and the WWE is just documenting it, or something for a storyline, or what?

I'm not sure what tribe he's originally from either. I'm just confused because it can't really be leading toward his redebut or something, since he's older now. So yeah. Anyone want to clue me in? Thanks! :D

I saw the video promo for it, but was not entirely sure it was a WWE angle or not until the end of it. It's good that they are finally doing something with Tatanka though. Now we have to see if Tatanka can actually deliver the goods in the ring. Which I do not believe he can, but I am hopeful.

That video really pissed me off on SmackDown!. It's like they're trying to pass Tatanka off as new. Please WWE, you brought him back for the nostalgia trip, and now you want to pretend he's making his debut. What's the point of having him around if he failed as a nostaglia act?

Tatanka's not awful in the ring, but why push him when you have plenty of young talent collecting paychecks for pretty much doing nothing?

Tatanka's from the Lumbee tribe. Did they say they were inducting him into the Lakota? I must;ve missed that, though I saw the whole "The initiation begins next week" bit.

I fast-forwarded my DVR and stopped just in time to see "The initiation begins next week". And I didn't care.

Isn't Lakota an over the counter joint medication?

Remember at Wrestlemania VIII when the Lumpee tribe were in the ring and Heenan called them the Lumpy Indians?

Good times.

I want to see JBL feud with Tatanka.

Cowboys and Indians.

Oh the hilarity of the promos that JBL could do.

It's not medicine. It's technically an herbal supplement.

Also, what exactly is this all about? Haven't been seeing Smackdown lately due to it constantly being bumped to Saturday for Pistons games.

They did a little "Documentary" promo regarding the great plains indians.

And ended with a new warrior, who would rival xrazy horse, was coming. He is...TATANKA.

I found the whole promo odd as well. I went to Wrestlemania 22, and at the Bacon, Bagels and Biceps Brunch, Tatanka was there and he mentioned they were putting together a Native American angle, but he made it sound as if they were doing a stable of wrestlers, not just him doing an angle.

At any rate, I'll wait and see how it pans out. I don't think Tatanka is bad by any means, he just doesn't have a lot of depth or anthing to his character. I can't see it working.

OF the yesteryear bunch, he's decent.

However, this kind of promotion for a nostalgia wrestler is a little odd.

BTW, it was pretty easy to tell it was a WWE promo (someone mentioned they weren't sure), as the VO guy was the same guy who did the Boogeyman promos and a few other recent ones.
