PWInsider Story:

Buck Woodward wrote the following on 4/26: "I received an email from a reader claiming to be the fan that tried to attack Shawn Michaels during the show in Belfast, Northern Ireland. While I have no way of knowing if this person is legitimate or not, he claims that he was yelling at Shawn that he "screwed Bret" and that Michaels responded by pulling a pair of Bret Hart sunglasses (the ones WWE used to sell at shows) off of his face, which prompted the incident. If any other readers were at the show and can give details about what happened, toss me an email."

This morning, a reader sent a link to a video of the Belfast incident, which can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0FtZitgQUQ, at least until WWE's legal department has it removed. The footage, which was shot by a fan, features shaky footage of Michaels making his way to the ring. He stops and appears to grab from a fan and then proceeds to tear it up, which leads to a fan hopping the rail and going after Michaels. Again, the footage is shaky, but it is obvious to see that the story claimed by the fan in question has some legitimacy to it.

That said, at no point should any fan ever cross the railing to physically get involved with a performer or athlete involved in any event.

:D :y: amen to that!

Seriously if he had tried that with me he wouldn't of made it to the ring!

Yeah he is real tough when God is backing him up.

Well, he may not be backing him come this Sunday. Who knows, maybe he'll make his rumored heel turn.

About as hard as it is to hold it while insanely screaming "KANE! KANE! KANE! KANE IS HERE! OH MY GAWWWAAWAADDDD!" apparently.

Wow. Too bad that video shows, like, nothing. You have to look at it going into it with the mindest that he took the glasses for that footage to really look damning. I don't think anyone would make much of this had they not already been told the story, and even then, it's hard to tell what's going on.

How did he get the camera in there in the first place? Don't they check when you enter? I know it's Ireland but they have to check for possible dangerous people/terrorists don't they?

Terrorists? This ain't America kid.

No. Other then Wiskey salemen, who would care is some Irish guys died. :shifty:

Anyway, Michaels is an ass, Bret got screwed by 20,000 people, and the fan maybe needs to realise that an old pair of glasses isn't worth it.

Most digital cameras come with a video function. Mine has a 640x480 for 30 seconds. The highest time (and lowest res) I can get is about 3 minutes.

Lol I held a camera steadier on a Roller Coaster. (Which is very entertaining to watch afterwards may I add)

I gotta say though, this definitely proves the point that Michaels really hasn't changed his ways. For all that Christian talk, he's still the same hypocritical cock he always was. BEyond that though, disappointing.

He is Shawn Michaels. What did you really expect? And there has been enough over the last year to prove it before this.

and what's the big deal anyways. A funnier one was when some fan tried pushing Eddie off a ladder on RAW in 2002. Or I think he just managed to jump the barricade, but atleast he was on TV as opposed to this Bret Hart clown who wears Bret Hart glasses who attacks HBK during a house show. No showmanship whatsoever. :nono:

I read it somewhere but I can't find it anymore, but I read that it was a 14 year old boy that was wearing Bret Hart sunglasses and shouting "You Screwed Bret" at HBK. So HBK grabbed the glasses and ripped them up, and then the kid stood on the barricade and then jumped on HBK.

I found some pictures from the video.

So it's kinda both guys fault.:-\

It's Michaels' fault. There's no doubt. You don't lay hands on a fan for heckling you.

That doesn't excuse the retard for jumping Michaels...

I don't know where they get the part about him tearing the glasses up from. It looks to me like he was about to put the glasses on. And when the drunk jumped the baracade, you can see Michaels quickly toss the glasses back at the kid.

In ECW, the Dudleys used to do some pretty nasty shit to the crowd in comparison.

It doesn't seem to me like this was something that was provoked. The video is only 30 seconds long, and most of that is Michaels dancing around before the incident and jumping in the ring afterwards. The actual time it took for Michaels to grab the glasses and do anything with them before the attack is 3 seconds. Just how much rage could possibly build up in that time? If it were like 10 seconds, it might be understandable. Michaels might have taken the kid's glasses, put them on, and danced around for a little bit and the average fan might have gotten pretty mad about it. But in those three seconds I seriously doubt that somebody could go from having absolutely no thoughts of jumping the baracade to becoming so enraged that they have no other choice. And if he could make that kind of decision after only 3 seconds, then that guy's a little freaking lost in the head and didn't need to be at a live show like that.

Hmmm...If Michaels laid a hand on me...

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Then again, I probably wouldn't be chanting "you screwed BRet" as much as "You're a hypocrite!"

I'd mention him selling out his religion, but it doesn't make as good a soundbyte.

Last year at a House Show I was shouting loud to HBK "you screwed Bret" and he responded in a rather calm manner telling me "I know that"
