I like Sean Payton while he was with the cowboys, I thought Parcells was grooming him to be the succsessor here, but I hope he does well in NO.

I wonder what number he is gonna wear? I heard they are announcing it on Thrusday.

They were talking about it today on 1st and 10, saying that Edgrin James tried to wear number 5 and they didn't let him so Bush wouldn't be allowed either..

Well I know that he is petitioning the league for #5, but if they didn't let Edge I don't see how they could let Reggie without there being some kind of backlash from Edge's camp. If they did that Edge would probably file some sort of stupid grievance, although I wouldn't blame him it would be pretty stupid. Arbitrary subject to be honest. Reggie should just be #25, 35 or 45. Something like that.

Won't happen but the NFL should use the NCAA numbering rules. That'd be pretty sick. Single digits all over the field.

Receivers can use the teens and single digits now, so why can't RBs? It better not have something to do with the RB being in the backfield with the QB and that getting confusing or some shit along those lines.

Receivers are allowed 10-19 because of the amount of numbers 80-89 being retired. Same thing will probably happen with RBs eventually.

Can't really see running backs ever being allowed anything other than 20-49. I can see wideouts eventually being granted the ability to wear single digits though.

Anyone else hate it when WR wears a number from 10-19, almost makes me like the player less
