Yeah I finished watching "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" earlier today at a friend's. :yes: I was pleasantly surprised at how good the movie really was. I know "chic flicks" get a bad wrap most of the time. However this one had an unsual depth. The comming of age motif between these four friends centered by a pair of jeans that all of them can fit oddly enough was an emotional thing to see. Over the course of the movie, I saw how realistically these girls grew into young women. As a girl , you dont feel so alone with all the problems we face as young women. Strangely it all happened over an extended summer vacation. I could identify with every girls situation. Usually I just watch a movie like that to "feel good" or for the upbeat dialogue.

Anyways, have you ever had a movie to surprisingly change your mind for the better after seeing it?
;)

Others that were surprisingly good::wave:
"Anywhere But Here"
"Garden State"
"Before Sunset"

Nice to see Garden State is a hit. :) I loved it in a weird kinda way. It was the first movie I even watched the credits at the end. Mainly because of the song by Frou Frou.

"Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"?

Come on dude.

Its based on a book. The book was good, but I have no desire to see the movie. I hate chick flicks. Even the comedic ones.

The minute I hear "coming of age," I turn away. It's nothing against "chick flicks" or anything, it's any CoA movie.

Its not that bad. Give it a chance you may be surprised.:) Kinda a way to understand females too!

I really liked Love Actually. Yeah, it's pretty sappy and hits pretty much every romantic comedy cliche, but it's also a ton of fun with an amazing cast. Plus, I'm a sucker for punchy dialogue.

Which, come to think of it, is why I liked Garden State so much, too.

The American President, also. A chick flick, but it was written by Aaron Sorkin, who is a writing god.
