mine is Clerks :y: I didn't include Jersey Girl or Fletch Won obviously because no one has seen it yet.
For once I have seen almost all the choices (all but first and last)
BTW, Jay & Silent Bob

Alright, would somebody please tell me what is so good about Clerks?
It's not THAT good, probably worse than dogma, mallrats, and chasing amy IMO.
What I really don't get is why he made it black and white, that made it much worse.

Of the ones I've seen, I have to agree. But Dogma stands out. Clerks is great too, but you can't beat that smiling Jesus.

Bingo. He has said if he could have made it in color, he would have. But didn't have the money at the time. And if he ever made a sequel, it would be in color.

He's not the greatest, but he's good at what he does. He makes you laugh, and makes you think a bit but not too much.

Well, if he was TOO thought provoking, he wouldn't be a success.
I tell ya though, he writes some fine dialogue.

Best part of the movie is when he reads the list of videos the store needs to order. :y: and the Salsa Shark :y:

That he does.
Well if he was too thought provoking it'd be too much like he was trying too hard.

Well yeah, and he wouldn't be in major releases...He'd be doing B+W films for art houses...
He makes you think enough to be a clever writer, but leaves the heavy intellectual pursuit where it belongs...

What I really don't get is why he made it black and white, that made it much worse.
1) Cheaper.
2) Took down the lighting issues; most of the movie was filmed in the middle of the night. Hence the whole "gum in the locks" thing.
3) Some people think it looks cool.

I loved it when he gets his hand chopped off, and then he looks directly at the camera and says..."Not again..."
