Even though he probably isn't the best skillwise, I am going with Jackie Robinson just becuase of what he did.

Having more gold gloves than any other 2nd baseman deserves a nomination. Perhaps you should pay more attention

He didn't played within the last 10-15 years, nobody is the best from that timeframe!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not knocking your nomination of him. I'm knocking the votes of him as the greatest of all-time.

And baseball awards really shouldn't be a dertimining factor in calling someone the greatest, especially when gold gloves weren't handed out before '57

But still, Alomar was masterful as a defensive second baseman not to mention a career .300 hitter with 2700 hits.

I voted alomar.

Alomar was one of the best. He is also my favorite second basemen of all time.

This was tough. My head was telling me Hornsby or Carew. My heart was telling me Morgan or Whitaker (Tigers mark).

So I split the difference and went with Jackie Robinson.

Yeah. I'm really surprised that Joe Morgan's in the lead. Cool.

I was gonna vote for Morgan but then I realized I wasn't in the Baseball's All-Time Biggest Moron thread

I went with Jackie Robinson. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Alomar.

Might have something to do with him being statistically the worst defensive second baseman of all time.
