"This is truly frightening," reads a typical post on SciFi.com. "I know its [sic] fiction, but why is wrestling science fiction? Calculate the rate of descent?"
I guess they haven't seen The Undertaker, The Boogeyman, Max Moon, Shawn Michaels' lies, Vince McMahon's freakishly large testicles, and Terry Funk, the 256 year old man who just won't retire.

Fan reaction, not surprisingly, has been largely negative, with some message boards devolving into jocks-vs.-geeks name-calling between science-fiction and wrestling fans.
Because, you know, all wrestling fans are jocks:wtf:

Of course we are! It's not like we know the dimensions of the rings and complain when they're a few feet off, or when inconsistencies come up in the storylines we don't come up with how to resolve them. No indeed.

I gotta admit that it's weird for the SciFi network to get this out of all channels. Unless it's because it's shown in a lot of markets.

Only reason why Sci-Fi is the pick for this: ECW was on "obscure" channels when it was in its prime, and Sci-Fi is the most obscure channel in the NBC-Universal envelope (USA is a NBC-U channel, after all). Many people still can only get it via digital cable packages.
If it weren't for that, Sci-Fi wouldn't even be THOUGHT of.

Not everyone who watches Sci-Fi are geeks. I know a few ex or current miltary folks who follow the likes of Stargate (One even likes Bab 5). You really gonna tell a Marine he's a geek? ;)
But that's not really the point of the statement. Just that it's broken down into such an argument. Which it really has.

No way man. I was over there, and some bastard made a 5 million word long post on the anatomies of immortals (Highlander). I am NEVER going back there. That shit is SCARY
