Anyone remember this back when it was on HBO? Its the 10 part mini series about Easy Company, who were part of the paratroopers in WWII. My brother has the box set and we just finished going through all the episodes.
Probably the best mini series I've ever seen, actually one of the best works I've ever seen. The stories are so engrossing, you become so attached to the characters. Once you get down to the last episode you're so enthralled with it, that it hits you so deep. At the end when it was saying what all the guys did after the war it was just this crazy deep emotional feeling inside of me. I was just like, god, it must be so deep to be involved in something like that.
I don't know how much the box set cost now a days (it is a few years old by now I think) but I do say, its worth every penny.

This is some damn good stuff. I agree, prolly the best miniseries I have ever seen. Actually, the best war movie/depiction I have ever seen as well. I loved it when it aired. Bought the boxset and have gone through it multiple times. So well made. It usually goes for close to $100. I got my set for around 70.
If you liked this, I recommend reading the book of the same name, and the book "Biggest Brother: The Life of Major Dick Winters, The Man Who Led the Band of Brothers". It focuses on Winters, instead if the entire company. Both damn good reads.
But yeah, if you haven't seen this, you really should. You won't be disappointed.

Awesome mini series. Alot of people from that cast got a HUGE boost in their careers. Ron Livingston got a show coming up this fall. Rick Gomes I think is starring in What about Brian?, I think 10-15 of the cast gave voices in Call of Duty 2 and Big Red One. But yeah, definately a buy.
holy fuck, i just watched the whole dvd set this weekend, and it is the best thing i have seen in a really REALLY long time. it is now for damn sure one of my fav movies/series.
also, it said winters lives in hershey, pa, which is 20 min from me so i thought that was cool. also when they had to disarm the 3 guns, was that not the same shit i had to do in cod3?
Its generally a given that any serious drama aired on HBO is going to be fantastic, this is definitely no exception, fucking brilliant stuff.

Always regretted not watching it when it was on.
Wasn't it a Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg production or something?

Yep watched it religiously on T.V. then I watched the repeats two months later and brought the DVD set.
Very moving and just bloody all around fantastic, fan of war material or not its just a special peice of film making really.
I would honestly recomend dropping the $100 this usualy goes for. I have watched it right through about 4 times now and I still feel the urge to watch certain episodes from time to time. Its one of those things that in a few years you know your gonna remember but probably wont re air and you kick yourself for not having it.

I've watched the first two episodes - pretty bloody good, I thought the first one was better than the second, even though David Schiwmmer was miscast (t's face it David schwimmer is miscast in everyting but Friends). He can't act - HBO must have got him on the cheap.
lol wait till the final episode and see schwimmer at the end. SALUTE THE RANK FAGGOT
holy shit tho, my fav two episodes have to be the last two, with the camp and with the hitler building on the mountain.
