View Full Version : Gangrel in ECW?

Take this with a grain of salt, because I haven't yet found it on any of the "big" news sites, but Rick Scaia (Online Onslaught) has reported that Dave "Gangrel" Heath has been contacted about a spot in ECW. I'm inclined to agree with Scaia's analysis, that this is in response to SciFi's pressure for ECW to have some sort of sci-fi/fantasy element.

With Heyman booking, I think Gangrel could work pretty well in ECW; plus, he's another familiar face who isn't blatantly associated with WWE. I know I'm not the only one on these boards who enjoyed his WWF run, so I figured I'd pass the word along. :y:

(Online Onslaught is pretty reliable, but if anybody finds other support for this news/rumor, please link to it.)

I've heard it too, but there's no way to know.

I wonder if White Wolf'll license the name again.

Or if he's gonna be someone else.

------

The ECW roster grows...

- Dave "Gangrel" Heath has signed a new deal with WWE (http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/41563/ECW-News:-Two-New-Signings.htm#) and is expected to be part of the ECW roster.

- Justin Credible either will sign with WWE soon or already has. He could debut as early as tonight on the WWE (http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/41563/ECW-News:-Two-New-Signings.htm#) vs. ECW special.

If a new Brood is as bad as the Sci Fi gets, I'll be pretty happy.

I read this somewhere, but I don't remember. I never go to the news sites unless there is a column on something that peaks my interest. I take almost every "news" thing with a grain of salt. Wrestling by its nature will have things change at the last minute.

Seven/Mordecai, Gangrel/Vampire Warrior, and the Beasts of Burden makes for a pretty solid evil heel stable, imo.

I guess Gangrel's Vampire gimmick is kinda Sci-Fi which is what they asked for.

Gangrel and Mordecai would both be nice additions to ECW.

As noted several days ago in the PWInsider.com Elite section, Dave Heath aka Gangrel has been signed to a new WWE deal and is expected to be part of the reformed Extreme Championship Wrestling. Heath was backstage at Smackdown in Bakersfield, CA a few weeks back.

With his release from the MTV Wrestling Society X project, it is believed Justin Credible has signed with WWE and may debut as soon as tonight on the WWE vs. ECW special.

IF they were smart, they'd toss "Other" Kane over there...PARALLEL UNIVERSES, BABY!

I remember when Gangrel first debuted and I completely marked out over him. Plus his music kicked ass.

Then of course, he became a jobber and was run into the ground. Not that he's such an amazing talent of course, but he could have been used better imo.

Gangrel? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Gangrel is one of thE WORST wrestlers ever.

I mean it's hard to get worse then Gangrel. I don't remember much of Gangrel because I tried not to watch when this sack of useless **** was wrestling because he was so bad in the ring. I think all he can do is an elbow drop and some stomps. This guy is like the biggest jobber after Brooklyn Brawler.

I don't see what the WWE is doing here. They hired him back when they had him attack Undertaker and he was TERRIBLE, good thing they fired him immediately and now they are hiring him back. His gimmick sucks too, he is suppose to be a vampire? He looks ridiculous, he doesn't even look scary. He is a freaking clown.

I can't believe WWE is hiring this guy back, he has not improved one bit and is just ridiculously bad. I hope he gets laughed out of ECW, he is not hardcore and his gimmick is old and he is out of shape and he can't even do hardcore wrestling.

The sad thing is, his grammar is pretty good (aside from using asterisks instead of just typing out the profanity), and he's not totally ignorant.

It's just hard to take him seriously talking about someone's limited moveset, when I've got that John Cena avatar staring at me while I read it.

Yeah. The Brood was one of my favorite groups from the Attitude era.

:y:

Gangrel, Joey Mercury and Kid Kash would be a good foundation to a New Brood possibly. What's Kidman doing? Maybe he can get something similar to that 7 year itch going again. Also Vampiro would be good IMO.

But most importantly....the perfect valet to the New Brood would be:

Wait, what? You're telling me that a marriage between two wrstlers has actually lasted...what is it, now? Ten years? The average seems to be about two years.

I never saw much of Gangrel, but I'm happy for the guy. He has that charisma about him. I don't know what the guy has left in him, but he could easily be adapted into the manager/brains of the outfit guy. They need to have him use his Brood theme music, too.

Gangrel, to me, helped to make Edge and Christian legit. He was a more conventional wrestler in a sense because E n C aren't exactly the big men the E craves. Gangrel had the look and is a company man from what I can gather....ECW can definitely use him in a similar role as before where he can help blood two young guns into the tag ranks or federation....

I saw Gangrel at some awful UK show a few months ago, he looked woefully out of shape. Luna looks awfully old. He's still the reason I went though, and I marked out like a wee boy again when his Brood music played and they had fake flames all over the shop.

Terrible show though.

Gangrel could get over in ECW. If ECW was on spike TV. it would really work as well, especially with this new Blade series coming out, which by the way looks fucking awesome.....anyways since Cena's not champ now.... Is the champ still queer?
