Smackdown has had a really awful year. And it all started at the 2005 Draft.

Smackdown got screwed out of:

John Cena (He was over then)
Kurt Angle (returned to Sd...briefly)
Carlito (promising young talent)
RVD (better for him in my mind)
Big Show (much better on Smackdown)

Still Smackdown managed to beat Raw in the wrestling side of things.

Then...Eddie Guerrero passed away. :'( SD hasn't been the same, and it never will be...

The injuries around Smackdown have made it a hell of a year. But we could all look forward to them returning...

THEN....Kurt Angle was drafted to ECW...better for Angle? Maybe... Better for SD...no way.

But Smackdown maybe could've managed with Chris Benoit around to give up top matches.

THEN....Chris Benoitr got injured and will be out for a while.

But we had JBL, the promo god, who could make any feud entertaining.

THEN...JBL was (kayfabed) fired and we're not sure when he'll return.

But we could look forward to the returns of Batista and SD's Legend Killer, Randy Orton, both great possible main eventers.

THEN....Randy Orton moved to Raw...which really makes no sense whatsoever as he had better career prospects on SD.

Smackdown lacks any main eventers. Their main event looks set to be Rey Mysterio V.S. Mark Henry............................................................................................... ....................................

It seems WWE wants to kill Smackdown.

Smackdown's losses this past year:

1. John Cena.
2. Kurt Angle.
3. Carlito.
4. RVD.
5. Big Show.
6. Eddie Guerrero RIP.
7. Chris Benoit.
8. Batista.
9. Randy Orton.
10. JBL.
11. Johhny Nitro.
12. Melina.

Most of them Main Eventers.

It's time to either:

1. End the brand extension.
2. Send some talent over.
3. Just let it die.....

Unless Smackdown gets some good luck soon...it's goodbye from me...and everyone else too. :(

WWE is clearly phasing SmackDown! out. Once Batista is inevitably moved to RAW, it will only be a matter of time before they announce that they're re-merging the WWE rosters (Probably around WrestleMania 24).

I say WWE rosters because this all depends on if ECW succeeds. My bet is that if they get a permanent spot after the Sci-Fi run, SmackDown! will be dead in the water. They'll start moving SmackDown! guys to ECW, probably starting with the entire cruiser division, and that will be it.

The final nail in SD's coffin will be Rey losing the World title at ONS to Sabu.

...Only for them to be drafted to Raw once they pick up popularity....(Carlito anyone?)

Oh, you mean how they MADE The Rock, Steve Austin, Vince McMahon... Uh... X Pac?

I think you're thinking of Heat.

Smackdown is going to do what it used to do. MAKE new stars.

The main problem being they need some star power there to make people care.

They killed Christian's push and allowed his contract to expire. He could have been HUGE on smackdown.

that is what the new ecw is for, it was set up for over ovw people and former ecw stars so ecw took over for smackdown.

And was already big on Raw. But they didn't want that.

Frankly, I just think the writers no longer care.

Oh wait, I mean never did care.

The thing is people say the brand extensions being ended but it isnt really is it? By the looks of things Smackdown and Raw are being merged and ECW will be the new Smackdown and will have WWE superstars i suppose its an improvement on before. Until vince attempts to hold drafts and trade the likes of Sabu to Raw

The Brand extension, however, was the split of Raw and Smackdown. So yes, if that happens, the brand extension will be over. Especially since ECW will be a separate deal.

Wait a minute, Orton moved to Raw? Since when? His feud with Angle is only for ONS, doesn't mean he's moved to Raw...

nope, he just annouced his smackdown contract expired and he's back on raw.

Why on Earth have they done that...I'll never know...
There is alot of $ in Batista VS Randy Orton....esspecially 4 the title

That fucking sucks then. Funny how all the smackdown contracts are expiring but the ones on Raw aren't. Ok they did that with Angle but now he's in ECW. When it does happen in Smackdowns favour they still lose out eventually, its just pointless. Smackdown now has to compete with both Raw and ECW taking its stars. It wont be around for long, trust me.
