This week is the first time I've seen The Miz (was out of town)... Is he supposed to be a heel or a face? he is so obnoxious. What the hell is his job anyway? I want to punch him in the face.
Thoughts?

I actually haven't been as annoyed by The Miz as I thought I would be. He annoyed me with his vignettes, but in his current host role, I don't mind him. They should keep him in that role and occasionally have him wrestle on Velocity, while he still trains prior to shows.

i was going to start this thread earlier... but i'm sorry. Poochy is annoying as piss. I don't see why they didn't throw him at Mark Henry.

He's a Third-Rate Jim Carrey with a Dennis the Menace-Gone-Metro hairstyle. I can't imagine anyone thinks this "The 90s called, they want their attitude back" bullshit is a good idea.

Someone should photoshop HOORAH! on that.

My only beef is that his "hoorah!" isn't a statement; it's a question. He says "Hooo, Rah?" And it just makes me grit my teeth. Other than that, idc until he wrestles.

It's not a question, he says it more or less identically to the military personel who do it. He just raises his voice at the end, which is not even an inflection implying a question.

I just can't stop relating The Miz to Poochy, The Simpsons writers were so right, when a show is struggling with ratings they end up bringing in stupid characters with stupid pointless catchphrases.

In that case, why now? Why not 2 years ago?

Dunno, maybe because Smackdown is closer than ever before to being buried? Like now it really is in the shit where as before it still had another 2 years left. It's only now that I have really felt that Smackdown is in trouble, even though since the brand split it has always been treated like shit, it has always had just enough to survive, not now though.

I still think it's got another 2 years left. Mostly because of that 2 year extension with WB and UPN, whatever they're calling themselves.
However, the statement was more a play on Krusty the Klown's retirement. A Simpsons reference. :)

Didn't know about the contract extension. I sitll think either smackdown will be cancelled or they will have to re-join the rosters though.

I'm curious to see him in the ring. Dunno why.

I think roster unification at this point is inevitable. But even with their shit ratings, they're still the best UPN can get.

I think he'll be shit in the ring, why do you think he hasn't been in a match yet? Because he's a shit wrestler. I think he may well take Tazz's place next week, that's just speculation out of nowhere though.

True, you got me there.(in my defence though it is 5:40am here) Maybe he is actually a good wrestler then?

From what I've heard, The Miz isn't horrible in the ring. I doubt he would be fantastic, though. He has what, two years experience? I definately think they brought him up too early, especially when OVW and DSW are in desperate need of stable talent to work their shows with.

I don't think anyone knows. WWE tends to sign people up without looking at 'em.
(Yes, before smarks get pissy, I know he was a contestant on blah blah blah...)

WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GET TO THE FIREWORKS FACTORY?
I only want Poochy to stay on Smackdown so eventually there can be a Poochy chant.
If he's still around when I go, I swear I will find a poster or a stand-up of Poochy and take it to SmackDown!...

I think he just might take a little getting used to. It's different, for sure. I think some of us may be jumping to conclusions, and that doesn't shock me a bit around here. I'll be expecting a "The Miz Appreciation Thread" soon. Probably from CYCLOPTERSAURUS, no less.

I hate to bump old threads, but god I hate The Miz so much. I very well may hate him more than anybody ever on WWE programming. What may be even worse is the fact that people cheer for him. Are they just going to keep having him do this same "host" crap? is there any indication that they might turn him or fire him or something? I really have a hard time watching Smackdown with him on there.
I remember somebody made a thread about liking him as a heel, which really might not be so bad, since he would be mocking the very thing that he is promoting now. And the experience would be so much better seeing him getting a chorus boos all the time.

John Cena and the Miz should be a tag team. Both have been very much pushed as "Edgy."
Anyway, has anyone been to a Smackdown taping lately? Is he really getting cheered, because it sure as fuck don't sound like it.

Yeah KK, he really is. I was at SD about 2 weeks ago, when Lashley and Booker T had that steel cage. People actually cheer for Mizanin.
