Ok, here is way for scheduling to make since. Give ECW Smackdown's time slot, and put all the gimmicky wrestlers on Smackdown on Sci-Fi. Like if it was that pirate vs. boogey man vs. gangrel and all of that on Sci-Fi it would be crazy funny.
Anyhow, yeah

I must say, really looking at ECW's roster, I do think they're best just letting the nostalgia die. Maybe have Paul Heyman claim he was sabotaged by Vince McMahon, and have McMahon gloat about it. Have Vinnie get on the mic and be like "Haha, you honestly expected me to give ECW new life? I just wanted to see it die again!" then have Paul Heyman become an active WWE manager (as announced by the Board of Directors to avoid a lawsuit or something). Heyman introduces RAW to its newest "Superstars" Rob Van Dam, Danny Doring, Roadkill, Shelly Martinez and Jazz. SmackDown! gets Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke, Big Guido, Trinity, Kelly, Kurt Angle and Big Show. Joey Styles & Tazz replace either the RAW or SmackDown! announce team.
It's a shame, I'm already talking about how to end ECW. :(

That is a shame, since they've done one freaking show.

Ah yes loopy, how quick we are to criticise. Did the first show suck ass? Yes. Is that a sign of things to come? We must wait and see. Give it two months, then write it off. I remember a time when everybody was pissing all over the idea of giving JBL the title and now look how many people are in love with him.

Exactly, redoneja. Last night's show was really really bad, no doubt, but it's not like that's the only show they're going to do.
Hopefully, the horrible fan reaction last night shows Vince that maybe it's not such a good idea to tape a show that bills itself as "anti-WWE" before a WWE show.
I'm excited enough of about the potential about the brand that I'm going to buy tickets to one of their house shows when they come to Michigan in July. Maybe I'm just an optimist, but I'm not going to lament the death of ECW before it's even a week old.

Wait and see is the best option at the moment, IMO. Even if the first show was the greatest wrestling show in television history, I would take a wait and see attitude. I hope that the Raw v ECW angles will end after Vengeance, and they will bring up some new talent to fill out the roster. Honestly, I am not interested in a nostalgia show for ECW. I don't want to see a re-hash of what ECW was from 1999-2001 becuase it'll never be the same. Just give it some time to develop new stars instead of putting guys like Justin Credible back into the main event just because he was an ECW World Champion. He's solid mid-card talent, but in no way can I believe he is a match for a guy like Kurt Angle, and not just becuase he was squashed last night.

Even though I am taking a "wait-and-see" attitude, I am not very optimistic about the future of ECW. This is not because of the show last night, but instead of the reports I have read about the creative control Vince McMahon retains over ECW, and the influence of the SciFi Channel over some of the booking.

I'm not saying it should be killed off, by any means, I just think that are hopes for this brand are too high too soon, and it will take awhile for it to get off its feet. The next ECW PPV is scheduled for December 3, 2006. By that time, I guarantee 75% of you saying it should be killed off will be singing its praises.

While that show was terrible we should not be burying ECW yet. Give it time.

I expected to be let down by the first airing. Because Vince still thinks he needs WWE to put over the product. I expect it will not be like this for long. Or rather, I hope.
I think people are prematurely judging it, but I expected that as well.
On a side note, anyone else crack up when they advertised WWE Wreckless Intent when Big Show's Theme Hit?

I really hated the first show, but it is true that it was only one show. I don't like the WWE involvement, but I am assuming their doing that to help jump start the brand, while it tries to create it's own identity. It'll probably stay that wayfor the next few weeks, until all the scores on Vengeance are settled, but after that hopefully the WWE v. ECW feud will end, and the brand will really take off. I'm hopeful it'll be better, and be an enjoyable product.

I think the show itself was OK. But the crowd we're GOD AWFUL. Except for the few real ECW fans out there who made themselves heard as much as they could. But seriously a face pop for Cena!?!?! and Booing RVD at an ECW show?
If tthey keep taping it before Smackdown instead of live then I vote we all get together with as many forums as we can go to ECW and ALL walk out before Smackdown taping airs. Also a Fuck Smackdown chant would be cool and I don't care if children are present. In fact if crowds kept chanting stuff like that then people would stop brining children and the Cena face pop goes too.
What a plan ;)

Last nights show was heavily edited by Vince McMahon and some othr jerk off. Most of the talent backstage were annoyed at how bad the show was, and some were quoted as saying "Paul Heyman would never have booked this shit".

I just want it to die because I hate ECW. It's not even wrestling. I was talking about this to Just John on MSN, ECW is more like a circus than a professional wrestling company. Fuck it, I sound a lot like Jerry Lawler, but that's what I think about it.

Team Sheep: Not being an ECW watcher back in the day myself, I was always under the impression that there were two stages of ECW: The early- to mid-90's ECW that focused on pure wrestling and skills, and the late-90's ECW that focused on tables, chairs, fire, and barbed wire.
I think they're trying to revive the earlier ECW, but use later ECW clips to advertise for it. The problem here is that most people only remember the later, more violent ECW. I want to see the ECW that had such classics as Psicosis vs. Tajiri, and featured wrestlers like Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, and Rey Mysterio, Jr. before they were watered down and tamed by WWE.

i posted this in another forum...From the way WWE is invading ECW and ECW invading WWE, I feel this is gonna be the whole invasion thing all over again with ECW fighting for their company against the WWE.

Let me guess. You're one of those fucktards who thinks ECW was just hardcore matches, who probably saw like 3 matches total, and is stupid enough to assume the entire promotion was about it.
If you don't think people like Benoit and Guerrero are wrestling (and as already mentioned NUMEROUS times in numerous threads, there were a ton of excellent technical wrestlers and technical matches), you need your head checked. Because that's a kind of stupid even being a wrestling fan can't account for.

ECW should get better once they end the ECW vs RAW feud. That way, they can focus in on themselves, and Vince will be less inclined to have his guys hog the limelight so blatantly.

I think people are thinking ECW will be shit because Vince is hardly doing well with WWE at the moment, and the fact that the first 'new ECW' show was just as shit as the WWE shows we get today doesn't exactly make us think very positive.
If WWE was in a better state than it is now, we may well be thinking differently.

I think that's the problem right now. WWE superstars are having too much influence on a show that isn't theres. That doesn't tell me this is the new ECW, that tells me this is just a new WWE show.
