Due to the remarks told in Flair's book about Mick Foley, At Vengeance the two will finally be squaring off, not just a normal match, but a 2 out of 3 falls WRESTLING match...(Many think Foley cannot wrestle, that he is exactly what Flair claims him to be_ a Death-defying stuntman_,,,is this at all true?) Can Foley live up to many's unexpected expectations... if that makes any sense?

Foley can wrestle, BTW. At some point, however, his matches stopped really being about wrestling. Flair's not entirely wrong, especially since nobody remembers the technical matches, they remember him getting thrown off a HIAC by Taker, and falling through the same HIAC and smiling. They remember the images of him with exploding barbed wire, they remember the footage of him jumping off a roof.

Foley's known for some of his shittiest stuff, because WWF was trying to push "Extreme" at that point anyway. And since Mankind and his evolution into Mick Foley is what he's best known for....

Foley isn't a technical wrestler like Hart, Benoit, or Angle, but he has good psychology. Even when he's not taking chair shots, his matches have been pretty good.

I can see why they're having this match.

Though I'd much rather Flair put over some younger guys. I don't mind Foley doing this. He's been putting over/helping younger guys since his original last match at WM 2000 (Being the commissioner and working with E & C and stuff).

I still wish someone would show Flair tapes of his recent stint on RAW, basically being nothing but a "whore" himself.

I'm really not psyched about this match at all. It could be good in hindsight, but right now, I have no reason to want to see these guys go at it. Hopefully they have Foley hit Flair with a chair early on, getting the first fall over and done with. Foley then pins Flair to tie it 1-1. Get it off to a quick start.

Flair needs to be a manager to some technical guys.

Yeah, the whole thing seems pretty contrived and hypocritical.

Flair: "You suck Foley! All you do is have garbage hardcore matches with flaming tables and thumb tacks! But now that I'm back from nearly killing myself in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match and then a 6-man Ladder match, I'm gonna show you how real wrestling is done!"

For fuck's sake. This match would've been great back in 95 or 96, when Flair was on top of WCW and Cactus Jack was in his youthful prime, but today, in 2006, this match has every plausible reason to totally suck ass.

I'm just fucking shocked this match is going ahead, normally i don't order the actual pay per views we have to pay for, but with that and the DX thing, Plus Van Dam vs Edge (mainly to see what the outcome is going to be) This PPV is looking pretty decent.

Foley was meant to have a match against Flair for a mania a while back, (I think it was for 20) Foley declined and instead tried to push an idea of getting Punk and Joe in as his team against a McMahon counterpart. I can imagine this match is going to be a stiff one, as the 2 legit don't get along, I haven't been this interested since Edge/Hardy in how a match is going to pan out.

Its funny I remember alot of net fans wanted to see foley vs flair at the last two manias due to the twos history together. But now that its finally happening it does seem to lack alot of pizazz.

Yeah, it seems like it was a good idea back when Flair could still perform, but his matches have been shitty, and has he really forgotten his stint in the MitB ladder match? What a fuckwit.

It probably would have been a bad idea 2 years ago, but it certainly seems a worse one now.

I have never really liked Flair's matches, I found the better part of them unexciting. Although he has had his share of god one's mostly the entertaining ones for me were the Evolution phase, where he and batista took the tag titles etc.

I am a huge fan of hardcore matches in wrestling, I love watching people do crazy-assed shit, like fall off a cell, jump off the titantron , off a 25 foot ladder and the such. The saddest day in wrestling for me was RVD VS Dreamer to unify the titles, now that the hardcore title has been brought back somewhat i am a bit happy, hopefully it has the matches in store for it as it did before.

It'll be an ok match but if you gotta take a piss break, you probably will take it.

Hell no, I'll wait until a Cena match comes on.

They should have done it Triple Theater type.

1. Regular Match: Flairs Forte

2. Hardcore Match: Foley's Forte

3. Cage Match: Both have had some famous ones.

What', praytell, is Flair's forte?

Hip on a pole match?

Yeah a bad idea but alot of people wanted to see after all the bitching the two have done to each other.

After what Foley said on RAW, I see the following scenario:

Fall one: After both men get in the ring, Foley lays down. Flair covers for the pin.

Fall two: Foley is still laying there. Flair covers. Foley reverses the roll-up for another quick fall.

Fall three: They actually go at it. WINNER: Dunno, don't care.

The 2-of-3 falls technical wrestling match at Vengeance was Mick Foley's idea. Foley wants to earn Flair's respect as a wrestler. Flair is very concerned with the match as well.

Interesting, actually. I can't really decide who will win. Either person could at this point; doesn't really do much.

I can see Foley goin over at this point, but only because it looks like they want Foley (or Foley wants) a bigger/returning role with his new character. Putting Flair over really won't do any good...Shit now I know what's going to happen.
