I dunno, I think he shoulda tried to go back to college IMO
I don't think this will really have a huge effect on college football, Football is a lot different a lot of the other pro sports. Players can be cut at any time, and no contacts are guaranteed. Football players careers don't last too long either, so a lot of them do need their education to fall back on. Also most college players wouldnt be ready for the NFL until they are draft eligable anyways.

Yeah, I agree, I don't think it will affect NCAA football. Didn't Clarett actually want to go back and play for Ohio State but couldn't? I think I read that somewhere. Anyway, where should he go in the draft? First round?

He is an idiot, and will fail in the NFL miserably.

Good his greedy ass is gone and he's gonna go nowhere in the NFL
I hope Cleveland or Detroit take him so he has to play against Ray Ray or Urlacher twice. I think he'll realize how good he had it being worshipped at OSU

Yeah, I really don't care anymore and I am tired of hearing about him.
He was an above average player, a great freshman, but a good pro RB? I think not.

He'll probably go like in the 2nd or 3rd round. He coulda been a premiere back if he played last year, and stayed in school.

he's not smart enough to stay in school, literally speaking.

Here's the problem... the ruiling will now open the door for high school seniors to go pro.
Given, I doubt many will, but you know there will be some 6'8 350lb freak in highschool who will have an agent convince him to go pro... and some team will draft him.
Legally, the ruiling is correct, the only way around it, is the NFL puts some "job requirement" such as x-years of schooling... same way you have to pass the bar to be a lawyer or such.

I don't know about that. I think he'll go in the 5th. It's really a 'toss' up anyway. There have been premiere RBs in college and are a total bust in the pros. Although the RB position is the least likely spot for a player to be a bust.
I agree with you on one thing, his draft status would be better had he played last year.

I have a feeling that Maurice Clarett will be the next Cecil Collins.

Cleveland. I can't speak for the rest of the state of Michigan, but I really hope the Lions don't take him.
