I don't have a 360 but still, Blockbuster requires that you have a major credit card to just rent 360 GAMES. Not only the system but the GAMES.

So I'm guessing it will be the same with PS3 games when they come out.

That be some BULLSHIT

Just find that friend who buys anything and everything to try out games.

They don't even rent 360 games at the Blockbusters here.

And that is not bullshit, it just protects them from people who can just never return the game and they won't have any way to charge them for it.

It's bullshit because some of us that are honest and don't have credit cards get screwed. I have a debit card but they don't take those.

And you don't get the 7 day grace period for bringing games back. They have to be back on the 5th day.

Yeah, they should really have a policy where if you just tell them you're an honest guy, they will let you rent without a credit card.

They do it because people used to walk out of Blockbuster with the RENTED CONSOLES and leave town. Blockbuster has some leverage with a credit card on file to charge you in case you decide to never come back.

I remember when it used to cost $4.59 to rent a game at Blockbuster :(

Why dont you just get a credit card? How are you ever going to build credit w/o one?

I rented a 360 game to play at a friend's house, and I didn't need a major credit card.

Let's just say I've made a few mistakes. :shifty:

They ask for that because the 360 has a flaw that, if you turn the 360 from position (vertical to horizontal or vice versa) it causes (most of the time) the disc inside to be scratched to the point where it wont work. Im assuming that thats why they want a CC, so they can charge your ass if that happened.

It's just for security. Because the games cost $60 they use a credit card so that if you don't return it, they can charge you. It's pretty much the same thing they did when they went to no return dates. If you keep it past a point, they charge your card. I'm sure that if you bring it back within 30 days from that, they will credit your card and if you don't, they charge you.

It's not because of 360 flaws.

All you need here is a credi card OR 2 forms of ID and a utilities bill or similar to prove you actually get mail somewhere. Either way, unless you move just to avoid the billing from Blockbuster or something, they've got some legit info.
