No matter how many times this question comes up, no matter how many different ways it is asked, no matter how many new bells and whistles FIFA has every year, Pro Evo (aka Winning Eleven) is just better.

I haven't played the new FIFA. I haven't needed to. WE wins.

No way, Fifa all the way dude. Get Fifa 06 2nd hand on the cheap now or something just to see you over if you're really desperate to play some soccer, then get Fifa 07 in September.

I already have FIFA 06 but I'm getting bored with it. So I'm wondering if it's worth picking up Winning Eleven.
What are some of the features on WE? Can you create your own team from scratch (ie: kits, name, players)? Is WE 9 the newest one out? When will another be released?
Shit like that ya'll.

Yeah, Winning Eleven kills FIFA in every way. You can create your own team from scratch in the Master League mode where you have to transfer players to get out of the minor leagues.
The new one is out in October (in England at least) on PS2, XBox and 360.

From what I've seen, Pro Evo/Winning Eleven is vastly overrated. Get FIFA.

Although they're not as far apart as they once were.

Winning Eleven all the way. It's just a much better recreation of football (soccer) than FIFA. FIFA has gotten better over the last couple of years, but it is still no where near as great as W11.

Winning Eleven isn't that much better anymore. Eleven has made a few minor changes to their gameplay, resting on their laurels as the top football game, whereas FIFA has made drastic changes to improve.
The gap has really shortened considerably.
I am a sucker for all the liscened teams. I think it's awesome that they can have so many teams and yet still be so accurate, right down to the jersey sponors.
If I could take all those teams and liscences and put them into WE, I would. But with FIFA getting better and better, and WE not really giving fans a true sequel, I may not have to worry about that.

Thats the problem. The little tweaks they do fine tune the gameplay. Theres not a lot of overhaul they can do without possibly breaking it and it's damn near perfect as it is! Maybe the overhaul will start on the PS3/360 versions, probably with PES7 but maybe with 6. They did last-gen versions of PES1 and 2 on PS1 while concentrating on the next gen stuff.

FIFA, but I haven't played WE. No licenses is kind of a turn off for me. Just seems weird. BUt I am curious as to how good it is, seeing as how everyone here loves it.
Been playing Fifa World Cup a lot recently. Drink some beers, take down Cristiano Ronaldo viciously, always a good time.

I've always found Fifa to be ridiculously easy and just incredibly dull to play. The first time I played Fifa 05, I kicked off, had a shot from 40 yards and it went in the top corner......the game got no better after that.
Pro Evo (winning eleven) has better gameplay and I've always found it to be just generally more fun to play.

The main sell for me is actually creating my own team from scratch... naming the squad, picking the color for the kits, picking the venue... shit like that.
If FIFA had that, it would be boss.

I played FIFA 06 the other day, it was like playing football with robots.
Anyone who says it even deserves to polish the boots of PES5 should be locked up.

Some years Datel releases a disc that changes all the names and strips for you to make it seem liscensed. If not, theres always patches if you have a mod chip for XBox or PS2
