Yeah I read an interview or statement or somesuch the other day where some guy said basically they've changed it because they don't want the physics to be screwed up when watching the transformations, so everything has to be in proportion, hence bigger truck.
That's all well and good except we're talking about GIANT TRANSFORMING ROBOTS. Why in the hell are they so concerned about stuff like physics? :?:
Impact!

The windshields HAS to be his chest. PLEASE.
The flames are tacky, though.
Sucks that Bumblebee isn't a Beetle.

This fan-made concept would've been better.

Just think if they went the firetruck route like they have been doing in the last 3 television series.

If they did that, then what??

I'm not particularly invested one way or another, but let's be honest. There have been like, 30 incarnations of Optimus Prime between the comics, toys, etc.
Though being concerned with physics is pretty retarded.

Just one really; "RiD" Optimus. He was more or less a truck in Armada, an ugly rig in Energon, and a futuristic truck in Cybertron.

Don't worry though...that's been debunked.
We'll have G1 colors rather than G2.

They're worried about physics because it's not a cartoon. Transforming robots are unbeleivable enough. Getting the physics down makes it more realistic, which is what all comicbook/cartoon live action movies set out to accomplish.

Yeah boy, that Hulk and his stretchy purple shorts sure were realistic.
