Whatever happened to that old rule of titles having to be defended every 30 days minimum? Wasn't Edge stripped of the IC title in his last run for pulling a groin muscle or something, only to be back in like 3 weeks, thus making the rule pointless in the first place? WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE SPIRIT SQUAD BEING TAG CHAMPIONS?!

You're correct about Edge's last IC title run...and the point is that..just like being thrown over the top rope was a DQ, the older rules of "pro wrestling" have been wiped to make way for the new "sports entertainment" rules....thanks to Vince.....

I thought the over the top rope rule only stood in WCW. Eventually, they got rid of that too, and I'm pretty sure Vince had nothing to do with that decision.

Thanks for the spam, executioner. And yeah, I kept saying to my g/f that RIc Flair's reign as I/C champ was stupid because he never defending the damn belt. He sometimes never even came OUT with it.

The 30 day rule just seems like one that was originally put into place just so they could cover their own ass. Maybe a champion was injured, so they made up the rule to take the belt off of him. Or maybe somebody was so over, they didn't want him to have to drop the belt to anybody. Something like that, I imagine.
Don't be surprised if the rule is totally ignored now, but brought up again somewhere down the line.

Trish was injured and didn't defend her belt for months, but still held on to the title.

There was nobody else they wanted to put it on. The Womens Division was essentially dead without her. They just exercise the rule whenever they want to, is all I'm saying.

Yep. It's one of those ass-covering rules, like you said Thrilla. Much like precisely how DQs are made. If you hit your own partner in a tag match, sometimes it's a DQ, sometimes it isn't. Sometimes a low-blow is caught by the ref but ignored, other times it's like the low-blow was as horrible as raping a child.

No they are awesome. They're funny, great workers, and have some somewhat unique moves. They'll get the belts, then the WWE will make them wrestle on Heat.

And you just fed him to turn another thread into a flame fest.
