<font color=goldenrod>Yeah :(

I felt it coming with the constant jobbing to DX (I figured Vince would flip his lid and can them). The Highlanders' challenge solidified that belief for me.</font>

ok, so my assumption is that, if they continue running with DX, that one of them will join DX right?

As I said in the Headlines forum:

Isn't this always the way?

- WWE brings in exciting new talent.
- Books them in repetitive squashes that turn cynical wrestling fans against them.
- Feeds them to established stars who bury them for months on end.
- Releases or break-ups ensue.

A break up will do these guys good. They've taken the gimmick to limits it was never meant to do. Ken Doane can be a major player, and will probably be the youngest Heavyweight Champion of all-time. Johnny Jeter has a lot of talent, but whether or not he will be in the main event, or take up a role similar to Chris Jericho (who he reminds me of) remains to be seen. I think a few IC Title reings, followed by some main event stuff. Mike Mondo will probably be a decent heel where ever they put him. Nick Nemeth should go to SmackDown! and align himself with a freshly turned heel Chavo Guerrero. Nick Mitchill will likely be on a brand opposite Nemeth, so he will remain on RAW.

I'm actually thinking they'll have a tag team feud (Ken Doane & Mike Mondo vs. Johnny Jeter & Nick Mitchell, probably), which will be won by Jeter & Mitchell, before they all get respective singles pushes, and Jeter and/or Mondo takes a ride to SmackDown!. Jeter would also fit ECW.

Hopefully they all become credible main event stars after they break-up.

Jeter should move to Smackdown as a heel a feud with a freshly turned Ken Kennedy.

Also, I could see Ken Doane feud with Carlito over the IC Title.

Realistically guys, they'll all be in ECW, jobbing at house shows, jobbing to the Unemployment Office, or in TNA within a few months.

WWE loves to jump the gun. Give them a bit longer. Some things they do, like the combo Leg Drop/Swanton can warm the crowd up to them. Right now, the only one the crowd will probably no right off hand is Kenny.

Also, Kenny is awesome, and hopefully doesn't get shafted.

Awesome. I love the Squad. But they have a lot to offer a part.

Right, but two AT MOST will be able to do that.

So Kenny's obviously going solo. I'd assume Jeter will as well. I could see Mikey and Nicky as a tag team. Dunno about Mitch. I'd say he's the one most likely to be released first.

Mitch will be a McMahonager

Right, but two AT MOST will be able to do that.I'd say three, but is that a bad thing? Mitch and Nicky aren't worth a fuck anyhow. Mickey and Kenny obviously will get pushes (though Mickey's will be smaller,) and Johnny stands a good chance as well. These guys are good, the level of MAIN EVENTS they've had is testament to that. Clearly someone is high up on a few of them.

They should really try and do something with OVW, now that they own the footage. I know OVW is small, and isn't anywhere near being credible, but some of the footage down there can help Ken Doane and Johnny Jeter get over. The title histories work in their favour as well.

Ken Doane WILL be a main eventer. He may work the mid-card (I love KoOS' suggestion of an IC Title feud with Carlito) for a while, but he will one day headline WrestleMania, mark my words.

Johnny Jeter is another safe bet for future main eventer. He was phenominal when the Squad started out, and he's gotten some more attention lately. He plays an awesome heel, but I think a face turn would be better suited to Johnny. Maybe have him feud with Kenny? Mike Mondo has been impressive in the Squad, but he's also the smallest member (vertically). He could be another to use a face turn. He'll probably work the mid-card for a while, but I wouldn't say hope is lost for him.

Nick Nemeth should go to SmackDown!. I'm certain of that. Stick him with Bobby Lashley and have them feud. They're both former amateurs. I can see a team with Shelton Benjamin on RAW (meaning they'd probably feud with Haas and Viscera), but I think some kind of major heel role on SmackDown! would be right up Nicky's isle.

Mitch is the most vulnerable member of the Squad coming out of this. A face push could fall flat, because the guy is reeking of John Cena and Mike Mizanin "charisma". It's the type of personality that just doesn't click with the crowds, despite the fact they try to do and say the right thing. Mitch is the least popular member of The Spirit Squad, and he was the first guy to get booted from Tough Enough 4. He should be a heel.

So yeah, turn Mike Mondo and Johnny Jeter face. Keep Ken Doane and Nick Mitchell heels, and have Nick Nemeth leave for SmackDown!. Either Mike Mondo or Johnny Jeter would find themselves on SmackDown! in the near-future. Maybe a battle between the Kenton Bomb and the Spiriton Bomb?

Out of all of this, I really would not mind if you have lets say Doane and Jeter out with the squad and all of a sudden turn around and destory Vince and what's left of the squad. Have them take off jumpsuits, to reveal DX shirts. This occurs after Shawn leaves for knee surgery (if he is still scheduled). The reason why it works so well is because you can keep DX together ( Vince will milk it big time), but this can move HHH to feud with ORton but still keep him with DX and now Doane and Jeter can feud with the McMahons.

I'm not a fan of the Spirit Squad, but the WWE are breaking them up too soon. They seem to only want short term tag teams or groups.

Like I said, I wasn't a fan so this can possibly be good news. They all seem like pretty solid guys. Hopefully at least one of them can be entertaining solo.

This is the one thing that pisses me off about WWE. Personally I can look past shoddy booking, lame storylines, burying talented wrestlers and move limitations, but the one thing I hate is how every team needs to split up.

I mean, what happened to the days when tag teams would be around for years on end. Name one recent team that has stuck together for some time...

Seriously, over the last few years there's like a "use-by" date on teams. Like they only last a year and a half and split up. This time next year Kendrick and London, Knoble and Kash will all be solo. The Highlanders will be gone. Haas will be gone. The list goes on...

Anyway, I liked the Spirit Squad, and considered them potental condedates for a big time stable somewhere down the line... but no, they have to split up, so Kenny can become a big time star and the others will disappear to TNA/OVW. I guess I'm a SS Mark, but I've been dreading the day I'd come on here and hear how they're planning to split up.

Wow. Of all the shit to bitch about in WWE, THIS is what pisses you off? It's a symptom of some of the major problems with WWE, but don't have the cause, hate the symptoms. WOOPPPY!

Rammsteinmad
07-21-2006, 03:56 PM
Lol... Nah really I know the booking is pretty bad, but I can look past it. I just hate that there haven't been any big time Tag Teams these days.... ten years from now when people wanna talk about legendary tag teams from this decade who are they gonna say?

Kidman and London? Dupree and Suzuki? The Show-Gunns?

Sadly, all the memorable tag teams over the last three or so years have been in TNA. WWE has had some pretty good teams of singles guys thrown together, but TNA is way ahead of WWE in terms of keeping teams together and actually caring about tag teams in the midcard.

It's one of the few things that TNA does very well (even though I'm still a bit miffed that they split Triple X and Team Canada...)

Rammsteinmad
07-21-2006, 04:11 PM
Yeah, although I'm not too keen on the whole "2 singles wrestlers = random tag team", WWE has had some cool teams/stables over the last few years... but they've all split up.

Booker T + Goldust were awesome. Un-Americans. La Resistance. And now Spirit Squad. :(
