And I figured it would be fun to discuss random stuff in the wrestling during the first 6 months of the year.

Every two days I will post a different subject such as "Top Wrestler...Angle...Tag Team...Character...etc" and I will put options in a pole and you will vote for your favorite.

I decided that to start off, the first topic will be "The Wrestlecrap" award for the first 6 months for the worst gimmick or angle.

I will put options in a pole and you will vote for your favorite.

Then what are you going to do with the pole?

We're going to give it a cement base, tie Nick Mondo to it, and let him sit in the ocean on the pole.

I went with Cena. It's not that he's untalented. He's really not. He put on some good matches when he was a heel on SmackDown. It's that WWE has insisted on turning him into the exact opposite of what made the fans start cheering him in the first place, then continuing to shove him down our throats despite the fact that the boos are getting louder and louder each week. WWE has done a lot of late-WCW-style booking over the last couple of years, but their phenomenal bungling of Cena's stint at the top of the card is probably the best.

Mysterio's reign is way up there, too, since I'm not sure how it helps the credibility of the World Champion to be decimated three weeks in a row in non-title matches. I'm also not sure how it helps the credibility of the contenders when, despite those losses, he wins cleanly on PPV. But it started out so well, and we really were all behind him in January/February. It was only around Mania that it got truly bad.

It's going to be hard for me to pick between Cena, Mysterio, and ECW.

1. Like loopy said, Cena is REALLY boring and needs a kick in the pants. The braintrust in the WWE thinks he is doing great as a babyface even though if you look past the 25 girls and the 200 kids in the audience, everyone else boos him. That's not good for your "top draw" who is supposed to be a fan favorite. And Cena doesn't do himself any favors by not trying to re-invent himself. He's been the same old self since 2004.

2. Mysterio has been treated like a charity case and a very lucky guy. That is something your World Champion should not be stuck with. It makes him look like an idiot because his title reign is basically put over as luck. And they are making him ride the coattails of Eddie's death to where the vocal point is not on Rey, but on Eddie. Hence why Eddie gets more chants than Rey does, Rey might as well start using the frogsplash...oh wait.

3. ECW, everyone was creaming their pants over this. Now everyone wishes it goes away, because it's basically Velocity with The Big Show and Kurt Angle as stars. And not to mention that everything that helped make ECW what it was, has been taken away.

Tim White's endless suicides.

Really ever since his feud with Sabu Cena has been fine.

If anything in this poll could actually be considered Wrestlecrap (and not just stuff that people didn't like), I think it'd have to be the Tim White suicide thing. Just flat out ridiculous.

But The Diva Search should be an option.

I"m sure the Diva Search will win at the end of the year.

Forgot about the Diva Search.

That's really the biggest redeeming factor for ECW right now is the utter lack of the Diva Search.

I voted for Team 3D.

Well Diva Search technically didn't start until July, so I didn't include it this time.

I dunno, I had to go with ECW

FFS, they didn't punish Sabu...yet they punish their own champion (probably as just an excuse to give the belt to the Big Show). I'm hoping it ends in Dreamer defeating Show for the title, but I doubt it.

The fact that WWE guys (Mike Knox, Test, Big Show) are getting pushed while the legit ECW guys are getting buried, is what really fucked it over. I can't even remember the last time an ECW guy got a win over someone who wasn't ECW. Actually it probably hasn't even happened, because Vince wants everyone to know that WWE > ECW.

Mike Knox was never a "WWE guy."

I mean what, are you going to complain because C.M. Punk is a "WWE guy" too?

Evil Vito

I get that Mike Knox is a WWE guy because lets face it, he's a big hoss dude and so he is of course getting pushed. He screams "WWE" to me.

At least Punk is a refreshing change. All ECW right now is:

-Kelly dances
-Mike Knox dominates someone
-Test dominates someone
-Sabu wrestles some ECW guy in an extreme rules match
-Big Show either dominates someone or faces someone who has no business being there

Punk is a guy who is believable to me. I'm familiar with style, and if this were the REAL ECW, I think Punk would have fit in just fine. If they let him do his thing he could be the show's MVP each week. Only way they can ruin it is if they bury him, or remember that he was initially meant to be a deaf wrestler.

Mike Knox isn't really a big guy and that doesn't mean that he is a "WWE guy" I mean look at Rhino's time in ECW. He was made to look like a dominant guy and really he is no bigger than Knox and he's just as talented.

And C.M. Punk can work the WWE style, which is why they like him.

I had to go with Rey Mysterio on this one. That was just a really bad move throwing him on Eddie's wings and giving him a ride to the top. Cena is a close second, but the boos he's been getting is going to be a wakeup call to vince and creative.

Another one that should have been up there is the "Coming and might be going of Saturday Night's Main Event."

Once again that's another that is second half of the year worthy since the second didn't air until last weekend.

Doubtless, though, when Punk comes out and wrestles WWE style, people will still fap over him. Same way people did it over Burchill's armbar finisher.

Oh God...That would have been my vote.

...As it is, I don't see Cena as wrestlecrap worthy (HE lacks color, pardon the pun) or any single element of ECW specifically as wrestlecrap material, so I went for the Spirit Squad. In the more "real" age of wrestling, having a gimmick this campy, this gay is really shite comedy.
