Pacific Northwest Champion twice. That's technically a world championship.

Isn't the Pacific Northwest Championship one of the titles that was brought together to form the Triple Crown Championship(for AJPW)?

I bet it will be talked about on the Piper DVD on how he never won a major World Title

Pacific Wrestling Federation was the Pacific World Title in the AJPW Triple Crown.
And no, Piper was never a credible World Champion...To this day that makes me feel personally outraged on his behalf. He is one of the greatest of all time, and undisputed legend, and yet he was snub'd. Bullshit.

Definatly one of the greatest workers never to hold a title. And he's near the top of that list

Looks like he went 9 years between any title. What the hell was wrong with him? I remember being a kid and totally into him. For a kid to be into somebody chances are that somebody has somethign great.

Piper put Hogan to sleep when Hogan was champ at Halloween Havoc 97 but there was some retarded screw job with a bunch of Fake Stings and WCW never really explained what happened

It was a non-title match at Starrcade 96.

Wasnt that when everyone assumed it was a title match and then the next night on Nitro they said it was a non-title match?

Yeah. Then they just forgot about Piper and hyped Sting/Hogan (well, they hyped Hogan's new movie more)
