This would be an incredibly easy angle to book with Rob coming back from suspension for drug use and Punk being straight edge...so Alienoid or whoever, write up a good angle for it.

It won't be straight off from when Rob comes back, but after he wins the title back (cause you know it's gonna happen) I could see Punk being his third feud (Big Show, second one, Punk, where Punk wins the title after a fair amount of time... Hopefully.).

Bullet points ftw

-RVD returns and reclaimes the title

-RVD joins the old ECW V New ECW fued going over Big Show, Test, and Mike Knox. RVD comes out strong but helps put over the talent a bit by making sure they still look strong

- After a few months of that fued a newly turned Sabu (could turn on the Old ECW on one of the shows) would step up to the plate to fued with RVD

- Sabu and RVD switch titles a couple of times leading up to the first ECW PPV where they face off in a brutal match (let the other title changes have interferences from New Blood, Old ECW)

-RVD goes over remaining champ into the new year.

-After a good solid year of fueds CMP turns heel (possibly taking out a face Angle) and challenges RVD for the ECW Title.

-CMP never gets a one on one title shot with RVD (three way dances, four ways, tag team matches, so forth) until at the next ECW PPV he is granted the shot

-RVD V CMP is hyped majorly and CMP goes over RVD ftw

-RVD and CMP can continue to fued for another month or so before bringing back a refreshened Angle to fued with CMP (Have RVD screwed out of a return title shot by Sabu and a returning Fonzie)

- Afterwards you would then have CMP V Angle Fued andRVD V Sabu w/Fonzie fued.

Done and done

Your biggest mistake was saying it was an easy feud to book...the inVasion was easy...Flair in 1991 (I think) was easy....the words easy feud mean nothing to them...they'd probably get punk to descend into drugs with RVD then have RVD be the fucking straight-edge one to get the feud going...

Hmmm....Punk without the gaytarded attitude. Could actually be interesting.

On a personal note RVD is extremely slow and boring to watch bullshit.

I'm not so sure Punk should start out face. I know, I know, he's cut the ultra-clean "I love competition yadda yadda" promos so far but to be honest I just think it's a prelude to, after having squashed a couple of jobbers, (and maybe a guy like Credible) and having gotten the crowd behind him somewhat, he gets on the mic, goes over the gist of what he has said already, and then launches into the 'better than you' spiel, ripping the crowd to pieces (and let's be honest here, in his normal straightedge promo he pretty much describes 50% + of the WWE audience)

Punk is not some badass legit shoot fighter and never will be, he has the cocky heel schtick down to a tee, pretty much, and after that has run it's course he can go face, similar to his RoH run.

I surprisingly agree with you there. I don't actually miss him at all. There's something about him that gets the crowd going and that's all I really like about him. Maybe we'll see more of the real RVD as the new ECW grows, but I didn't really see much of a difference between his matches in the new ECW and in WWE. They were all basically the same.

RVD's been pretty crappy since he came to ECW. OTOH, half-assed RVD>half the roster giving 110%

What does OTOH stand for? That's a new one to me.

CM Punk should definately be a crusader for the New ECW. I'd have him feud with Sabu before Rob Van Dam, though.

CM Punk beats Stevie Richards one week. Al Snow the next. He defeats Brent Albright the following week. All the while cutting arrogant promos. Paul Heyman has a few encounters with him backstage to get the fans to notice him a bit more (there should be no problem, as ECW is pretty thin at the moment). Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke then Big Guido (not sure if he is under contract, but it shouldn't be too hard to bring him in) lose to Punk over the next three weeks. He's now 6-0 since debuting, which is better than a lot of guys get.

Rob Van Dam beats Big Show to win back the ECW Title. Punk is asked about what he thinks of RVD being Champ, Punk shoots on the drug issue. This leads to RVD calling out Punk, but Heyman holds Punk back, calling him "the future of ECW" and warning him to not throw his career away by facing RVD before he is ready.

Punk spends the next few weeks beating guys like Balls Mahoney, Justin Credible, Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman (probably in that order). This allows Punk to go heading into ECW's December PPV 10-0. RVD defends the ECW Title against Kurt Angle, while CM Punk takes on Sabu. Sabu vs. Punk is declared by Heyman to be Punk's "determining match". Punk succeeds by forcing Sabu to submit. Joey Styles can probably mention that John Cena was the last man to force Sabu to give up, which puts Punk over pretty strong. They can even do some kind of backstage thing with Punk and Cena (who will squash some ECW guy on the card just because to spite ECW).

In the main event, Rob Van Dam is about to defeat Kurt Angle to retain the ECW Title, but Punk runs out, shoves RVD off the top rope, which allows Angle to hit the Angle Slam for the pin. This adds fuel to the RVD vs. CMP fire, and it allows their match to be non-title. Punk forces RVD to submit, then sets his sights on Angle, who can turn face, again.
