For some reason today I was reminded of one time when I went to play Putt Putt Golf somewhere in town. I must have been 6 or 7. After playing the 18 holes, I begged my mother to play some video games. Surprisingly, my mother allowed me to look around the arcade and play something (my parents usually did their best to never let me play any non-educational video games). Of all the games I could have wanted to play, my interest peeked at Mortal Kombat, which had just hit the arcade scene.
Being like 6 or 7, I didn't understand how to play at all. As I quickly began losing, I started to look over at my mother to see how she was taking the game. She didn't look too happy. As I lost my second round of the fight, I was quite surprised to see the computer character do what I didn't want it to do in front of my mother.
A Pit Fatality in front of my mother. Lots of blood, you know the drill. As I think about it now, inside I was quite elated to see my mother's reaction. I knew it wasn't helping my cause in terms of asking my parents to play arcade or video games in the future, but the stunned look on my mother's face was pretty much hilarious and was completely worth it.
So yeah, I remember that day quite fondly. It was one of those moments where I knew I was going to love playing video games for the rest of my life.
Any similar experiences? I'm waiting to hear everyone talk about crying during FF7.

When I was 7 or 8 (I forget which) I got Yoshi's Island for the SNES. When I reached the end where you fight Baby Bowser I easily beat him and thought that was the end of the game. Then there was the scene where you are ontop of the castle and you see these yellow eyes light up in the shadows and the music starts. Bowser slowly gets up and he was huge and did the roar thing. Since I was so young I marked out for the first time and never have I marked out at a game since.
Ontop of that when he started charging towards me, I paniced and was marking out more.
A vid of it I found:http://youtube.com/watch?v=LtKh7e2ESBc
When your 7 and thats the best thing you have seen on a videogame then its pretty exciting.
Another good memory is making my sister sick when she was lying on the couch, ill, I played Raphael Ravens Moon level in front of her and made the screen spin around over and over again. :D

Goldeneye with my friends has to be the best gaming memories I have. We loved the facility, hiding in the toilets and everything.
By myself, I remember finally being able to beat Culex in Super Mario RPG giving me a particular sense of satisfaction. I had to try for a couple of week-ends.

Goldeneye multiplayer was great. One time my friend was in the stall in the facility, and I conered him. He only had grenades so he starts chucking them everywhere.
I shut the stall door just as he's throwing one and it bounces back at him in the now closed bathroom stall. He said "uh-oh" just as it blew.
First blood battle Royales in No Mercy whrer held everyweek after raw.
Mario Kart 64 Battles.
NHL 05' and Smackdown are the games of choice now.
Multiplayer is definitly the shit. Much better than online multi IMO.

I'll obviously start with the Final Fantasy games.
Final Fantasy 7
-When Sephiroth killed Aerith (the obvious choice)
- When you fought Sephiroth in his human form. When your flying through the world and you see him standing there with his sword...scared the shit out of me. Then Sephiroth's theme hit and you went into battle. That scared me too.
Final Fantasy 8
- When you think you have beaten the game and then Ultemecia with no face comes up and her music hits. Oh man, mark out moment. I was like 4 bosses, man I finally won.
Final Fantasy 9
- Beating the final boss. Wasn't too much in this game that was wildly popular.
Final Fantasy 10
- Realizing that Jecht was actually Sin. Crazy moment there.
Other games
Metal Gear Solid 1: When Meryl gets shot by the sniper and is out in the middle of nowhere, and Snake must go back and get the Sniper rifle. You know she's not gonna die, but you just never know.
Metal Gear Solid 3: When Boss turns on Snake, HUGE MOMENT IN THE ENTIRE SERIES.
Kingdom Hearts 2:
-Realizing that Riku was still alive and that he was actually with Organization 13.
-Figuring out that Roxas is actually Sora's Nobody.
-Sora being reunited with Kairi and Riku.
Kingdom Hearts 1:
-Realizing that Riku was behind all the mind games and he was one of the final bosses.
Winning the Superbowl for my first season of Madden 2003. Then playing 6 more seasons until I won my next one. It was a span of like 6 months of playing once every other day.
I've owned Tiger Woods 2004 for about a year now and played off and on since then. I finally won my first tournament a week ago on a 65 foot birdie putt for the win. Huge moment.

Single player shit:
More than anything I remember the first time I playedd the first Dr. Wily stage in Mega Man 2 and the dragon comes barreling onto the screen. And I'm jumping from platform to platform trying not to shit myself.
Virtual Pro Wrestling 64. Dynamite Kid vs TigerMask. Nuff' said.
Super Metroid, when the Huge Metroid helps you and gives you the last beam.
Playing street fighter II for the first time.
Ending of MGS 3. Fucking gutted right thurrrr.
Seeing Raiden kick copulous amounts of ass in the MGS4 trailer.

Yeah, you pretty much stole all of mine. Kudos. :D
Gotta add one, though. The lake hugging scene with Tidus/Yuna in FFX is unforgettable to me. Always has been. Plus anything with Seymour. Seymour was the man.

Single Player:
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. I went crazy when T3-M4 came back a second time. Total markout moment when I repaired HK-47 and immediately put a blaster rifle on him.
Samurai Showdown: Finally beating the game with Charlotte. She got next to nothing in the moves department.
Legend of the Dragoon: Besides the gameplay, the cutscenes were just fantastic.
Multiplayer:
Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark 64. Always get dusted off when my buddies are in town. We can go on for hours.
Socom 2 online. A once in a blue moon event happened when I took down two terrorists with one sniper rifle bullet. A very hard feat.

I do not know what to berate you for first. Between the woefully incorrect grammar and incorrect spelling of the incorrectly chosen word, I don't know what to abuse you for first.
Anyway, 0-0 away to Juve in PES4 the first time I played six star was the highlight of my life.

Saturday, Sunny midday, I just got back from downtown (I like to go early)
I boot up GTA San Andreas its kinda misty (on the game) I pick up the Savannah car ('64 Chevy Impala) I go down to Loco Low mod shop and fix it up with Dollar rims, chromer bumpers, yellow leather seats, hydros, and that azteca type painjob (Red with yellow lines over the square parts like the hood)
Just as I get out, its bright and sunny just like outside, and the song 'Jungle Fever' by The Chakuchas comes on the radio, (You know, the one on the first trailer, and its on boogie nights too) So I jack up the bass and bounce around Los Santos with the other members of your gang, as I'm hoppin up, they all tap their hands on the side of the car in time to the beat of the music. :D :D Talk about getting back to my roots! :D

In middle school, my best friend and I used to play a TON of video games. Usually WCW/nWo World Tour on the N64 or NFL GameDay on the PlayStation. But a couple of times each year (usually around the holidays), my whole family would go over to his house or his would come to mine, and he, me, and our younger sisters would have these massive Goldeneye battles. Really really happy memories of that.
Also, I used to play Goldeneye a ton with my sister, just one-on-one. But she didn't like to compete, so we'd just try to come up with the silliest stuff. Like, we'd turn on paintball mode and just turn the mini-rooms in the Basement level into giant Jackson Pollack-esque splatter rooms. Or we'd make it a four-player game, but put the two people we weren't controlling into a room; then set off a remote mine or something while we watched, just to see who'd fly farther.
In high school, I had another friend who was really into wrestling, and we got another of our friends into SmackDown: Know Your Role. One weekend that we were all staying over at his house, I drew up this MONSTROUS bracket with everyone in the game (plus CAWs. And I made up teams for every wrestler, too), and we had this enormous singles and tag-team tournament that went on all night. If I recall correctly, Funaki (me) won the tournament with a diving schoolboy on Jericho (my friend Tony). He was so pissed to lose the finals that way, I still sort of lord it over him to this day.
But most of my happy gaming memories come with my sister. We were raised on Nintendo, and we still go back and play a ton of the older games. Especially Goldeneye (I'm not ashamed to admit that, over the years, she became better than me). That might be the thing I miss most when I move in a couple of weeks, is not being able to just come home and just play Goldeneye or Star Wars Battlefront with my kid sister (who, I suppose doesn't really qualify as "kid" anymore, since she's 21).

I was just reminded of the fact that during high school I took Oceanography, and didn't do a lick of work during the entire year. All we did was play NFL Blitz tourneys. Good times.
Also had a comptuer class in high school in which we played Half-life and Worms World Party after we finished our work, which usually took all my friends like 15 minutes out of a 1.5 hour class. The teacher would see us and she just didn't care, because we did our work. It was awesome.

On the Mega Drive: Streets of Rage 2 (More fun than the original), Micro Machines 96 (With track editor and extra controller slots in the cartridge for 4 player. Unlimited replayability), Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (I used to be a GOD at that game).
On the N64: Goldeneye/Perfect Dark (Me and the guys I played with used to come up with tons of crazy game modes like 'Hunt the Pope' on complex, where a small guy would be the Pope and be guarded by 2 bodygaurds who weren't allowed to leave their posts), No Mercy (We played years of this, making our own weekly shows and storylines, etc. Some classic memories like our 3 Rumble winners all went on the lose the Mania main event, and mystery masked stalkers that ALWAYS ended up being DDP).

YES. In middle school every day before school started we all packed in one room and played Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine on an emulator.
I was good, but one of my friends beat me every 9 out of 10 times. So ridiculous.
